Description: In a recent review The DAILY BREEZE wrote .... "There are some wonderful small restaurants that dot the landscape of Italy. If you want to duplicate the experience of traveling to Europe without the expense, visit Scardino's Italian Restaurant in Torrance." We are a family owned and operated ristorante much like one would find in the neighborhoods of any southern Italian city. Our authentic recipes originate from all southern provinces of the country. Our pasta, pizza and seafood is carefully prepared each day with the highest quality ingredients available, most imported from Italy. We also have an excellent selection of moderately priced Italian wines and fantastically delicious Tiramisu. The Iorillo Family - Phillip & Pauline along with daughters Tracy & Kristi - and their friendly, professional staff will pamper you with world-class service and Italian hospitality. Our intimate, warm Italian atmosphere makes Scardino's the perfect choice for entertaining your family & friends.

I have been of Chef Salvatore at Scardino's for a long time, from his famed Dante days in Redondo Beach. Although the ambiance has changed to a more relaxed family restaurant, the food has remained outstanding. From the moment he brought out his infamous garlic bread to the last bite of my dinner, the experience was pure gastronomical pleasure. His seafood meals are by far the best in the South Bay, as his wife Alicia personally picks out each piece of fish served in Scardino's.
I began with his mussels in a light wine and garlic sauce, that were perfectly cooked and presented as my Mom would at home. A peak around the corner from Chef Salvatore and the smile on my face told him the story. He followed the mussels with a wonderful bowl of minestrone soup, that matched the taste only my grandmother was able to guarantee me each time. I then was treated to the most amazing bowl of pesto tortellini that this fifty something Italian has ever eaten in his life, light and delicate in flavor, they were close to orgasmic. When my meal arrived, hand delivered by the chef with a huge smile on his face, I knew I was in for a treat. He presented a beautiful piece of salmon, in a heavenly sauce that just brought out the flavor of this large piece of fish. I relished each mouthful, including the house standard broccli and potatoes. I invited the chef to join us for a toast to him and his family for a meal that makes any Italian feel like they are home again.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking the finest Italian seafood available in the South Bay. You may find fancier environments but none as friendly as Salvatore and Alicia'a Scardino's, and you will not be able to fine food of this quality in this great little discovery in Torrance.

That last reviewer sounds like he could be the owner himself. Nevertheless, this place is a very good candidate for South Bay's Best Pizza if not Best Italian in Torrance. Don't be put off by the strip mall location. The food and service are very good. Intimate location- careful with a large group. I recall the prices to be pretty good as well. It's practically in Redondo Beach. I only wish I lived closer!

It's a rare event that you get a good feeling when you enter a restaurant -- that's what you get once you enter Scardino's. It's cozy, totally unpretentious and immediately, you are treated like family -- think of joining an italian family for dinner. The small, intimate setting sets you at ease and immediately, you are prepared for a gastronomical treat. EVERYTHING is good in this restaurant. From the bread, to the pastas, to the pizzas, to the meat courses. Add the personalized service and the unbelievably wallet-friendly prices, Scardino's will leave you grinning from ear to ear. I have brought my family, friends and co-workers here. All have given glowing reviews. If there was such a thing as winning a restaurant lottery, Scardino's would be it.
