“A Happy Re-Visit”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

The Kozan Japanese Restaurant in downtown Torrance on Cabrillo has been around for quite awhile. Ownership changes and few upgrades it's been some time since we visited. We were looking for a location that served Japanese dishes as well as sushi for the birthday girl upon her request. Due to the convenience of the location not far from the 405 freeway we decided to give Kozan a re-try. We were all happily pleased. Most of us ordered combination plates such as Tempura, Sashimi, Teriyaki Beef, Ribeye Steak or Chicken. What is a bit unique here is that Sukiyaki is also one the choices you can combine with. Served in its own cooking pot it was filled with tofu and vegetables, very flavor-full and delicious. Along with nice crisp salad-these dishes offered plenty of food. They also serve Bento boxes that offer a smaller portion size of a variety of dishes giving you the opportunity to try several of your favorites. The Sushi and the Miso soup was also very tasty - the Birthday Girl left very full and was very happy. Parking is in the rear, reservations are accepted. Interior is nice - casual setting. Family owned and run. We are all ready to go back again.
