“Great location, new & mordern deco with basic kitchen unit”
Reviewed November 30, 2009

This is definitely one of the very few hotels I like in California - Most of my trips to L.A I try to limit my hotel budget to around $100~$150. This is by far the best value hotel I've stayed (it was just under $100).

The hotel is newly refurnished, so the deco is very modern and clean - which is different from most best western I've stayed at.
All rooms comes with a small kitchen unit (sink, fridge, microwave but not cookers) - And the fridge was actually empty, so I can put whatever I buy from the supermarket in without removing lots of soft drinks.

Loved the free WIFI there (pretty fast comparing to some of the 4 star hotel I've stayed at in L.A), the busniess centre also has two desktops that guest can use to surf the internet & type documents.

The hotel's amenities (shampoo, conditioner, lotion...etc) are from Bath & Body works - which I also loved, normally they just get x-branded stuff that makes my hair all tangled.

The hotel also provides free breakfast (4 types of cereals, bagels, waffle, English muffin, toast, scrambled eggs, hash brown...etc) - so not bad for $100!

It's also very close to Del Amo fashion center & supermarkets and has a Subway right next to it - so very convenient.

I was back in LA for business, so i decided to try the Best Western Avita Suites again because my stay was so good last visit, with no regrets. This time I stayed at the back of the hotel, and it was a little noisy during the afternoon (tile saw next door) and in the morning (leaf blower) These occurred well into the day and were not bad, and in no way under the control of the hotel, but whenever I go back, I plan to stay more towards the front (lobby) end of the hotel. I travel a lot from coast to coast, and this is the best breakfast that I've ever had, so keep up the good work. See ya next year. ;-)

I stayed in october for 4 nights at the Best Western. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort of my queen studio. The room had a small kitchen (fridge, mircowave), a hughe LCD TV, a work desk, sitting area, nice bed, nice bathroom etc. As other reviewers already wrote, the light in the room is too much and not very cosy. These lamps belong in an office, not in a hotel room but this is the only remark. The breakfast is nice, staff is very friendly. The hotel in conviently located in Torrance, close to the shops, restaurants etc. The hotel is 10 minutes drive to the beach for some relaxing.

If you go to Torrance and seek for a nice place to stay which is not to expensive, this is the place to be!

Spent five nights with a friend in a two-queen studio suite. Space in bedroom area was pretty tight, and one of the beds tended to block the A/C unit, but otherwise the studio was comfortable and well worth the price. The beds were fine, and the complementary breakfast offered good variety (including some adult-type cereals and breads along with the sugary stuff). Rooms had free wired and wireless Internet access. We never figured out the TV, but didn't much care anyway, so we didn't ask for help, which would doubtless have been forthcoming. (We had trouble figuring out A/C and got help immediately.) The suite featured a microwave and refrigerator, but no utensils whatsoever -- not even the cups for the single-cup coffee maker were microwaveable -- so guests planning to cook should bring paper plates, etc. Service was a bit loose as to detail -- no bathmat one day, no wastebasket liner or decaf coffee another time. The location was excellent for us, since we wanted to spend most of our time near Redondo Beach, 15-20 minutes away. A trip to the Getty Center took half an hour, one to Long Beach took 45 minutes, nothing to complain about given LA traffic. Lots of food and shopping and an AMC multiplex nearby.

The Good: This is a very new hotel. The room I had had a unique layout that had separate sleeping, lounging, kitchen and bath areas. Small, but comfortable. Although they refer to it as a "suite" it really was all in one room (except the WC). The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. They also offer a decent, hot breakfast and free wireless internet. The Bad: I didn't like the noisy air conditioner that was located directly next to the bed. Also when my neighbor took a shower at 6 AM the plumbing noise was so loud, it woke me up. I really hated the cold lighting in the room. There are no lamps, short of a small, metal, halogen desk lamp. All the lighting is from overhead florescent fixtures or halogen spots. The room lighting had all the coziness of a 7 - 11. Overall, I would still say it's a good deal for the money.

Stayed two nights at the beginning of our trip from LA to Lake Tahoe. The room was beautiful, great having a kitchen, liked having the bathroom vanity separate from the shower. Very comfy bed, good aircon. And great breakfast, more than you could want. There is also a guest laundry available, and parking is free. Would definitely stay again.
