My fiance and I made a fairly last-minute trip up to Tomales for a weekend away from the city. While the options were fairly limited in what was available, it could not have worked out more perfectly. As we arrived at AppleGarden cottage and started unloading the car, Jan greeted us with cheese and crackers that she said paired nicely with the AppleGarden Hard Cider in the fridge made with the apples from their farm. Not only did it pair nicely, we ended up buying two more bottles to take home with us!
The cabin itself is very cozy with nice comfortable furniture, patio overlooking the orchard, gas fireplace, heated tile floor in the bathroom, and a kitchen stocked with nothing but the best of local organic snacks - yogurt, milk, half & half, butter, fresh eggs from their farm, homemade granola, and more. While the purpose of our trip was to get away from our busy electronic-filled lives, satelite TV is provided at no cost as well as internet radio, which we did take full advantage of while reading by the fire!
Even after a morning jog, the breakfast Jan quietly delivers and leaves on the doorstep each morning was more than enough. I had to force myself to stop eating the warm fresh scones as to not spoil my appetite for oysters at Tomales Bay Oyster Company that afternoon.
My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.
