“Loved it!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We arrived from the UK via a fantastic dude ranch in Wyoming and a few days in Yellowstone National Park so the bar was high. Despite the extreme cool of an August Wednesday evening we had a warm reception and liked our simple but comfortable 2nd floor room with small balcony. Dinner in the fire-lit Tiburon Tavern was delicious and we gradually thawed out after a couple of glasses of delicious California wine. From there on in our visit got better and better and we enjoyed the hotel. Stylish overall with comfortable beds, good breakfasts, lovely sitting out areas when the sun came out, which it did by late morning, secluded and wind-protected swimming pool for afternoon sunshine, friendly service. We loved the fire-pits although the deck one was not lit and the downstairs one was always occupied. A great place to stay and visit the delights of San Francisco via ferry and Marin County by car. My only negative comment was that our 'breakfast included' deal was a little mean at $10 each for 2 especially as we were 3! But that did not mar our experience and will recommend the Lodge to friends visiting the area.

Room Tip: Choose a 2nd or 3rd floor room and keep your windows closed. Or just wear yourself out during the d...

I stayed at The Lodge for a recent vacation to see my son and could not have been more happy. Ian at the front desk was absolutely divine. The clear and attentive service made me forget about my retched flight! Any complaining reviewers must be curmudgeons or didn't chance upon Ian's wonderfully genuine service.

I'm sitting here at almost 11 pm in a very low-grade repainted hotel room over a pool and bar area with people howling and making a racket downstairs. There is a restaurant bar in the front of the hotel and all the rooms in the back are facing a noisy pool.

The people that rate this with 4 and 5 stars are seriously causing me to doubt the veracity of anything on Trip Advisor. "The nicest hotel in Tiburon??" Try the Water's Edge. This is decidedly NOT the nicest hotel in Tiburon.

I doubt I'll get any sleep for hours because the partying downstairs is just getting cranked up.

I will never stay at this tacky place again.

both at check-in and inquiries later the front desk staff were spot on. We felt very comfortable with their relaxed yet professional service. We enjoy the location, décor, grounds, landscape, bar, restaurant, self parking, access to the ferry. The Lodge at Tiburon is an oasis of calm in the hub bub of the bay area.

This hotel is an old Travel Lodge, but KEEP READING! It has been repainted and really was a pretty nice place to stay. The Pros, parking was free, beautiful small community (Tiburon). Short drive into San Francisco. We drove into the city and back for 4 days and it only cost us $24 total for toll charges to cross the Golden Gate each day. (You don't stop at the toll booths, they take a picture of your license plate and mail a bill to you.) What we saved in parking at the hotels in San Fran was tremendous! It only took us approx. 20 min ea way and traffic was never horrible. We went in early July. The pool here was nice and my kids really liked it. While the hotel's pictures on their site don't show it, all rooms enter from the outside. Still a nice area so we didn't mind. Parking easy. The two queen beds were a bit hard. When I called the front desk, housekeeping showed up in 10 mins with a nice padded mattress cover. This worked good for the 4 nights we stayed. It was nice of them to accommodate us. The service was great from start to finish. Room was very clean.

I stayed here with my two kids (ages 4 and 6) and a girl friend as a quick weekend getaway, we had an amazing time. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the food at the restaurant downstairs was fantastic, the rooms have been recently renovated and it was very clean. It would be 5 stars if the room was a little bigger. There are plenty of places to sit and relax, with nice comfortable couches and oversized chairs. The pool was so warm, hot tub was not too hot, towels were thick and soft, there were beds with a canopy to lay out on as well as chairs with umbrellas. At night, we made s'mores at one of the two fire pits, it was really cold so the front desk provided us with big blankets and glasses of milk for the kids. Sam's Anchor Cafe and the organic ice cream shop was just across the street, as well as CVS and a market. Everything was super convenient, we didn't have to drive anywhere. We had an awesome experience and I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: The hotel looks like it used to be a motel that they completed heavy upgrades on, so I would recomme...

Excellent hotel and loads of amenities. Property has outstanding sitting areas with outdoor fireplaces for cool evenings, Enjoy a drink on upper deck of Tiburon Tavern. Very courteous and helpful staff. Plentiful free guest parking on premises as compared to hefty charges in downtown SF hotels. Very convenient location to shops and restaurants and the ferry dock. Rooms and bedding comfortable and very clean. Very nice pool and hot tub.

Green Features: Very environmentally conscious..option to keep linens and not require every day change is a good consumer choice practice
