Great to have outside gas heaters throughout the beautiful seating and eating areas that surround the lobby. Beautiful, spacious and tastefully decorated room. Receptionist Ian's hospitality was genuine and natural. At the Chaminade, you could tell that their attitude was, "We're going to shmoozh you because that's what you paid for." Disgusting! The bed was comfortable: I had a great night of rest. A couple of negatives. The walls are relatively thin, such that I was quite aware of others' intimate moments. 2nd, there was no Bible in the room.

A delightful respite a few short miles from the bustling city. The room was clean, fresh and nicely appointed, the grounds were beautifully maintained with delightful fireplaces scattered throughout for sitting in the evening with a glass of wine and just chilling. In the morning we had a very good breakfast in the cafe and set out to explore Tiburon. The location of the lodge makes it a perfect jumping off point for any of the activities, from using the rental bikes they have available and riding a circle route through the beautiful Peninsula Tiburon is located on.

I stayed here for two days on the Living Social deal. It was a good deal which included two nights, $40 wine credit, and $50 food credit at the restaurant. I like the location. I wish there were better places to eat near the lodge but I was not too far away from Mill Valley.

This used to be our favorite hotel for weekend getaways in the Marin - good location, well appointed, friendly staff, and yes, under prior management, no pet charge. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. The hotel now charges a whopping $75 for a pet stay - a rate that I consider more pet-discouraging than pet friendly. Our dog is a part of the family and weekend outings with him are a big draw to get our boys away from their electronics. I recently bought a deal for this hotel that I had to withdraw from after discovering the new pet charge. Though I understand certain amount of pet fee may be necessary, at this price I am afraid I will have to look elsewhere.

Dear butterflygrove,

I am sorry to read, that you no longer favor our hotel for you and your family. We are very much involved with our pet owners community, and do our utmost best to accomodate every one of them. Charging a pet fee is a common standard amongst hotels. We encourage pet visits as much as those guests without pets, but do need to ensure our accomodations remain in pristine order. I would love to discuss this issue with you directly, so feel free to reach out to me when time permits.

We stayed 2 nights and it was average. Not good, not bad. Probably won't go back though. It's in lovely Tiburon and a short drive from San Francisco.
The hotel looks a lot better from the outside. Average from the inside.

The room looked clean and was updated, but had no comfortable chairs; just a desk chair. We could not find the drinking glasses or ice bucket (finally found them in an odd location). We heard every footstep of the guests above us and had to endure the sound of their bed creaking as they...okay, I'll keep this G-rated. The bathroom door needed it's hinges oiled. The HVAC unit constantly made a loud snapping sound making it very difficult to sleep. The website is very deceiving. I am very surprised that there are so many good ratings. It feels like the owners and/or management do not have sufficient experience operating a hotel. Feels like an upscale motel. I am writing this at 3:45 am because the loud snaps are keeping me awake. I can't wait to get out of here!

Room Tip: Book elsewhere.

Dear Julie O.,

I am very sorry to hear that we were unable to provide you with a relaxing and comfortable accomodation during your stay here at The Lodge at Tiburon. As you can see by the feedback of our other guests, this is certainly not up to our standard, and I would love the opportunity to connect with you on your feedback. I really look forward hearing from you.

We stay at the Lodge once or twice a year when visiting relatives in Tiburon. The hotel is finishing up a very needed renovation.

We were in a renovated king deluxe room on the third floor. The changes in the rooms are excellent - getting rid of the old whirlpools (from the 70's?), and giving more space in the room. The room is now large and nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nicely redone.

Location remains great - walking distance to restaurants, shops, and ferries.

At check-in and check-out the front desk personnel were friendly. However, they were not familiar with the Stash hotel rewards program in which the Lodge is a member hotel. We'll see if my account gets credited for our visit - it's been less than a week since our stay, so perhaps it takes some time for the credit to be applied, since it's a third party program.
