When heading to Tiburon on a nice day, Sam’s is a worthwhile stop. When we arrived, the line to get in was long, so we worried about the wait time. But, we were actually seated within 15 minutes at a great table next to the water, and the staff were super-friendly. The view and atmosphere were fantastic. The cocktails were also tasty (although our waitress was mistaken about the size of the “fish bowl” cocktail, and it was definitely too big for two people). The food was good, but pretty much average. We started with the calamari; I had the lobster roll, and my husband had the swordfish special. The fresh catch was the way to go - the calamari and lobster roll were not commensurate with the price. Overall, Sam’s is absolutely worth visiting on a great weather day for some cocktails and a bite to eat, just don’t expect A+ food.

Lovely deck at the back overlooking the harbour and surrounding bay. We just had drinks and fries but the food looked good and it was popular with a good atmosphere

After 6+ week renovation, this 99 yr.old establishment is BACK and YES, better than ever. The interiors have an updated nautical theme with comfortable woven chairs in Main Dining room (I'd like at home) and a fabulous Sports Bar area on the other side with 2 large screen TVs that just begs to be filled day & evening, rain or shine, for favorite sports watching. The Outdoor Deck is better than ever with more tables, heaters & large umbrellas overlooking fabulous views of SF Bay & Angel Island.
They offer a full bar, good beer selection & fun cocktails: Hermosa Picante & MaiTai now favorites. Live Music's now a part of the ambiance available during the day & into the early evenings. The Waitstaff is welcoming but very busy and appears more servers are in training. Appetizers: Crab Toast's a bit boring, both Fried Calamari (flavorful & crispy) & Old Bay Fries w/Dungeness Crab easily shared. Entre's are really good: Cioppino Stew's hot & flavorful, generous Lobster Roll has great homemade chips. You can't go wrong w/Firestone Beer Fish & Chips with crispy batter & tender fish interior (easily shared). Sam's Burger is still really good but the bun is overwhelmed by poppyseeds AND sesame seeds too! Not a look good in your teeth...
