“Relaxing Experience”
Reviewed July 29, 2010

My wife and 2 boys (8 and 6) just stayed at Carriage Vineyards for a relaxing 4 days. Leigh Ann and Larry did a wonderful job of accomodating us all (we stayed in the vis-a-vis suite). At first I was a little wary of bringing the kids to a B & B, but I wanted them to experience a farm/ranch and enjoy the great outdoors. Everything worked out great. The ranch is so big that the kids could get out and explore. They liked feeding Brix and Brom, the two harness horses and were even able to do the 1.8 mile loop around the vineyard on their own. They must have picked every last strawberry (sorry) and terrorized some of the lizards. The carriage ride was a highlight. The TV never came on, except for my wife's Yoga videos. Mostly we hung out and played games. In the evening we had use of the kitchen for some simple family meals. Don't miss the farmers market on Saturday morning in the park in Templeton if you are there at that time. Close to SLO and the coast.

We were pleased to have this family enjoy the ranch. We accommodated the young children which we normally do not do because of their interest in what we do. We generally allow children 10 years or so and older. We are more adult oriented, even though we love kids - was one once! . Larry

My wife and I stayed here recently and we had a blast. The rooms were comfy, the breakfast was great and the collection of carriages was fascinating. We left very refreshed.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the B & B. We stayed in the Coach House which has breathtaking views, and it is like a home away from home. If you are looking for a place to meet nice people, enjoy great hospitality, quiet and peaceful days and night....then this is the place for you. We can't wait to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I liked hiking to see the cows. The hotel met all of our needs. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere relaxing, and it was a unique way to experience Paso Robles wine country.

The room was large enough to accomodate the couples' massage which the innkeepers arranged. The innkeepers also had good recommendations for dinners and wine-tasting and local events in the Paso Robles area. It was a great way to spend our anniversary!

We stayed for Valentine's Day weekend, in the Victoria suite.

While driving to the place, I was a little nervous when we saw signs (that followed our directions) to the garbage dump. Not to fear however, because Carriage House is not near it, and you would never know there was ever a dump around if it weren't for those signs. Actually, the signs later helped us find the place in the dark later on, since our GPS wouldn't work about a few miles before the place.

The Carriage House Inn includes a vineyard and olive orchard. They grow grapes for Wild Horse and a few others. It also houses a very large collection of (of course) carriages, which are lovingly restored and preserved.

There are three rooms. We stayed upstairs in the Victoria suite, which is huge. A nice comfy bed, a small window sitting area, a shower and bathroom area, and a large Jacuzzi type tub. Towels are nice, as are the bathrobes. Downstairs there is a living room and a very large kitchen, where you can store foods or beverages. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We took a tour of the vineyards (costs extra, but really worth it) and really learned a lot about growing vines. Near the kitchen, there's a bunch of tourist pamphlets, which includes a free tasting at the nearby Wild Horse Winery.

It was really, as my title states, an excellent stay. If there was any kind of minus to the place is that breakfast is at a specific time (I think 8 0r 9?) rather than a window of time. Since we wanted to sleep in, they left individual trays for us, as well as all the coffee, tea, snack extras. Really, such a minor thing compared to everything else.
