“Good for a big crew!”
Reviewed October 29, 2009

36 of us ate at McPhee's last week. We were a coach full of high tech researchers moving to Silicon Valley after a visit to Santa Barbara. Even the Frenchman liked the food!

The service a very good--no fun for a small wait staff to have to deal with a coachload all at the same time. They did so competently and cheerfully.

It was a Monday night and the restaurant was completely full. What better advertisement?

“Where else can you enjoy fine gourmet cuisine in shorts and a tee?”
Reviewed September 27, 2009

McPhee's Grill represents everything that makes me believe the Central Coast wine country will soon overtake Sonoma / Napa. Ian McPhee's food is out of this world - he's creative and has mastered what I can only describe as a sort of Mexican / Asian fusion cuisine. The ingredients are uber fresh and of the highest quality. The portions are generous and the food artfully presented. And, the wine list is everything you'd expect from a premier wine region. In most places, all of this would amount to a place that was anything but casual, yet McPhee's Grill is one of the most comfortable and welcoming restaurants I've encountered anywhere. You won't be disappointed.

“Local Favorite--Learn Why!”
Reviewed August 29, 2009

We were sent here by innkeepers who described it as a local favorite. We were so glad we came. Armed with advice on what to look for, we tried the kung foo ribs and wood grilled artichoke appetizers--simply WOW to both! Then we shared the porterhouse steak and the house CAB--a very memorable meal. The place was very busy but with a congenial crowd. Definitely seemed like the place to be

“Good food you can find at home.”
Reviewed June 23, 2009

The food was good. The service was good. Was the food unusual? Was the food outstanding and memorable? Not really but I was curious as it was highly recommended and I am happy I went there to see for myself. After the Artisan in Paso Robles, I think I was disappointed. If you are going to try both; go to McPhees first and then the Artisan.

“Excellent”
Reviewed May 27, 2009

McPhee's Grill has been our favorite restaurant in the area for over 10 years. Brunch is great, so is lunch, dinner, drinks and/or dessert. Their local wine list is excellent, and if you buy one of their bottles of wine, the corkage fee is waived for a bottle you bring in. Their goat cheese topped salad is a meal in itself, and excellent!
