What a charming little town and surprisingly great restaurant. We were on our way to Paso Robles for some wine tasting and stopped here for lunch. No wait for a table, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lunch was delicious! Maybe a little pricey, but not enough to keep us from coming back. Next time we're in CA, we plan to stop here again.

The first time we ate at McPhee's (in June), the food and service were outstanding. However, we ate there again last week (September 15th) and the food was beyond terrible and the service matched the food! Our tiny salads were a chopped mess of slop. The salmon I ordered was prepared incorrectly (I asked for no salt and no sauce and the salmon was overly coated with SALT). The second delivery of salmon arrived and smelled and tasted like it had sat in the cooler for 1 year! The menu said "fresh" salmon but failed to say it was fresh a year ago!

So, my queston is: Which is the real McPhee's? The first dining experience was wonderful and the second was a DISASTER. The chef/owner of McPhee's needs to get his act together.

Several people told us to try McPhee's Grill. For me it was disappointing. The food was way over accessorized (if that's what you call it!). Everything had either a heavy sauce or topping or both. Too much going on to really enjoy what you've ordered. If you enjoy a multitude of add ons to your meal, then this is your place! I won't be back. I will say that the service was great and the setting is very nice.

We are a frequent guest at McPhee's and can't believe how the great food keeps getting better each year. The service staff knows their stuff and always provide exceptional service, even on Friday and Saturday nights. We normally never eat dessert, but the after dinner treats are not to be missed. This place is off-the-hook amazing.

McPhee's is always a great place to go. The food is always good and it's reliable. Wine prices tend to be high....
