Moved from North county area to Temecula 4 years ago. Chin's has many restaurants there, to my surprise they opened one up in Temecula. Always great food, quality has never changed, still after nearly 40 years in business. Love this location , great atmosphere. A must if you love Chinese food. Will not find better in area, very happy they are here!!. My only regret will be when word gets out it may get real busy. Thanks again Chin's for coming.

Temecula, CA, does not have a top of the line Chinese restaurant, per say. After trying several, including those that compete with Panda Express, and that in reality only offer very sweet dishes, and below par food, the number was seriously reduced to two that somehow elevated themselves above your Panda Express model: Ming's Chinese restaurant and Red Ginger. Both charge a pretty penny, have seating and a somewhat decent atmosphere, but Ming's did not qualify for a repeat visit, and Red Ginger won by a very slight margin, only to dissapoint each time we got lazy and decided to order delivery. They always forget to send a key dish, and then it becomes a serious enterprise to call them back for it, they also do not put shrimp in their Wor Wonton soup, and everyone familiar with this soup knows that shrimp is mandatory. They do serve it at their restaurant, though.
So things were looking pretty bleak for Chinese restaurants in Temecula, when to our surprise we read somewhere that Chin's Gourmet had opened in town. Needless to say, we drove a couple of miles over the speed limit to try this one, for we are without a trace of a doubt, die hard Chinese food eaters. Nothing like a decent Chinese cuisine. Upon arriving we were pleasantly surprised that the place, besides being in a very accessible location, was also very nice inside, making it for sure the one to beat in decoration and space. As soon as we were seated, Alan our waiter, a very classy and wise server, approached our table. We liked his attitude immediately, and since it was around 2:25 PM, we agreed to his suggestion to have one of their lunch specials. That way, he said, we would have the chance to try their food for a very decent price. Plates ordered:
Hunan Style Scallops, $9.25? Served with our choice of fried rice instead of the white, egg roll, and the scallops sliced thin with a black bean sauce a tad sweet, but an easy dish to consume never the less. The egg roll mushy, not a star in the repertoire but hot and easy to eat. Overall I liked the dish, a little surprised that it was not as spicy as some Hunan style food I use to have in San Francisco, but good enough to polish. 4 Stars.
Sautéed Fish, $8.95 for Big Mama, a sweetheart all around, that favors fish over most selections. Same deal on the rice and the egg roll, and the fish came with a see through sauce, very mild and appetizing, and a few al dente vegetables. She liked it very much, and so did I when I tried a little tiny bit I exchanged for some of mine, a very easy dish to finish lie it was. 4 Stars.
Hunan Crispy Pork, $8.99 for Chrisito, our family member we all love to death, and who just like us, won't miss a date at a Chinese restaurant if at all possible. Here, Alan showed his willingness to please. Chrisito asked him how hot it was, Alan replied how hot you want it on a scale from 1 being the least to 10 being the hottest, he even said that 8 1/4 was available upon request. To this statement we all laughed out loud like one happy family, and it was decided a 7 level, which turned out to be just right. The pork crispy as it should be on this selection. 4 Stars.
Alan kept visiting and we really felt special, but please note we were only one table out of three, and the rest was empty because of the hour? Even the water tasted delicious and so did the tea had a lot of character. Total bill with gratuity came to $36+. We have to return for there were way too many items to be considered in a future date. For the time being, I am happy to announce that the under par Ming's and the scandalous Red Ginger that charges for delivery and do not deliver what has been paid, take a distant second and third place. Chin's Gourmet, for now, is the one to beat. 4.5 Stars!

This is by far my favourite breakfast item on the menu! The shāo bǐng, full of sesame seeds, is flaky, soft and chewy. The you tiao is a rich custard yellow on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Thanks to the owner for disclosing his detailed process, he revealed that new oil is used every time and after the initial frying stage, it is left to stand so all the oil can be drained out properly before serving. This shāo bǐng you tiao combination is known as "something plus something is Mmm-Mmm good". When paired with a nice sweet soy milk custom made for this restaurant, it is more than Mmm-Mmm good!
