We moved from the east coast a few years ago to a town near Temecula so we've been to Old Town about three or more times now. You can see just about everything if you arrive early and stay late.
Parking is a real problem so once you find a space you have to walk. The town is divided in half by Main Street which is always full of traffic. I think if they closed Main street to cars the whole experience would be greatly improved.
Other than the fact that the town itself is historic there are not many historic sites or museums around. There are lots of antique shops if that is something you enjoy. Basically it's just an old town to shop in, as there is very little else to do other than shop. If you're in Temecula you might as well go because there isn't much else to do in town.
