Description: Trattoria Toscana is a quaint, boutique Italian restaurant that creates an authentic Tuscan-Sardinian-Italian cultural experience, rich in the appreciation of high-quality food and wine. Trattoria Toscana caters to those who savor authentic, home-made Italian meals that bring out the flavors of each ingredient. Chef Pietro, born in Sardinia, carefully selects fresh, local ingredients to create daily specials as well as imports from Italy to create high quality, homemade Tuscan and Sardinian meals. Here at Trattoria Toscana, Chef Pietro draws on his Italian and Sardinian roots to bring the community a true Italian experience, transporting his guests to Italy for a delicious, enjoyable meal. He believes that the best flavors come from fresh food, using the highest quality ingredients, prepared daily, just as they do in Italy. Chef Pietro prepares his dishes with care and passion, attending to every detail. He makes the pasta and bread from scratch each day. He rolls housemade tortelloni and ravioli by hand. His gnocchi is made in house with potatoes and imported pecorino cheese, using his mother's recipe. You can find the staples of Italian cuisine, olive oil and tomatoes, in many of his dishes. He chooses to use high quality, extra virgin olive and truffle oils from Italy to ensure that his dishes have the authentic flavors of Italy. He sun dries tomatoes by hand using fresh, organic tomatoes to accentuate the flavors of his dishes, such as our popular Pappardelle con Funghi. Chef Pietro refrains from preparing his dishes far in advance, in order to preserve the tradition of preparing his dishes on the spot. This technique requires time for preparation and provides our guests with a leisurely dining experience, a time to relax and enjoy the company of others, sipping a lovely glass of wine, upholding Italian dining tradition. Cuisine is a passion and a past time in Italy, a time to revel in delightful flavors using just the right ingredients, and investing the time in its preparation every day. The interior décor, inspired by Chef Pietro's Sardinian and Tuscan roots and woodworking background, creates a quaint, authentic Italian dining experience. Pietro's own sculpted functional artwork made from recycled wood, his hand-crafted wine bar tiled with stone, and exquisitely crafted Italian window frames filled with Tuscan hillside paintings transport you to a hilltop in Tuscany where you can enjoy tantalizing food, wine and a true Italian experience at the table. Come taste the joy of Italian dining here in Temecula!

I've eaten at all the Italian restaurants in Temecula and they all have about the same things on the menu. But, Trattoria Toscana is different and now I know why. The owner is from Sardinia and they have different dishes for that region. And, he cooks the Sardinian way... simple but elegant and VERY tasty!

Last night was New Year's Eve. My husband and I knew that if we didn't have an RSVP at any restaurant in Temecula, it would be hard to get in. So, we slipped out at 5 pm, drove to Trattoria Toscana of Temecula and were fortunate to find two seats at the bar where we enjoyed our last dinner of the year. The restaurant was already packed.

They had some really unusual specials I hadn't tried before, so I said, "what the heck" and ordered them. I had no idea that ravioli could be made in any size or shape. Instead of the little squares of dough, these raviolis were handmade, at least 4 inches long, and they were crescent shaped. The owner said he had started making them at 4:30 am that morning. One ravioli was filled with a ricotta cheese mixture and the other with creamed spinach mixed in with some arugula pesto. They were both heavenly. We also ordered their stuffed octopus appetizer which were stuffed with a mixture of salmon, mussels, clams and some other secret ingredients. We were amazed. Super super tasty food! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back there tonight.

The restaurant also now carries Wiens Insomnia beer but only in the bottled version which is just as good as the draft beer. My husband had chianti wine instead.

This restaurant is on the smaller side but the service is always impeccable. Their team is well organized, so everything runs smoothly with every attention to detail given. Every time we've eaten there, the food has always been served nice and hot. Their servings are generous, too so that you can take some home for lunch the next day. We will definitely be back.

We frequent the area where Trattoria Toscana is located. Like the atmosphere, service and expecially the food- a choice of full or half meals makes it a place to go anytime. Had pasta with soup and salad - outstanding. Asked for a surprise for desert- ended up with an Amoreta dish with a blackberry and redberry with Chocolate garnish- smooth and outstanding. Will go back many times. Happy to have this type of restaurant in the area. Spoke with Petrio directly - nice man and wishing him the best -

Check out their website (trattoriatoscanaintemecula.com) to read the story of how owner and chef Pietro came here from Italy a few years ago. The food is excellent. I've eaten there twice and had great food both times. The special octopus salad on my first visit was amazing. It's well worth checking out.

Amazing Italian food! The real spot for italian food in town, don't be fooled by the humble exterior. Great service and delicious food. Gino is a great server, very attentive. Love this place.

While we went there in a big family party, this quaint little restaurant would be just as good for a romantic dinner for two or a solo dinner at the bar. The decor is cozy and inviting with great wooden pieces done by the owner/chef.

And then there's the food - delicious! I would highly recommend the mushroom pasta, asparagus fritters, and burrata. Also the tiramisu is to die for! While those were my favorites, everyone at the table had their own top choices and there were great options for the kids as well.

Overall, I would highly recommend Trattoria Toscana!
