the building is historic...that is about where it ended for me, as not a big Mexican food person I would say it was alright. the other parties love the food so it must be good...more of a fast food setup than fine dining. the others liked the fish tacos and the chicken fajita. i had the steak fajita and felt it was loaded with too many peppers and not enough beef. if you like Mexican this is your place...if not oh well.

Rosa's Cantina has good Mexican food at reasonable prices. You can order combination plates or single dishes, to eat in or take out. I met a friend there (nice halfway point between Orange County and Carlsbad) for lunch. We ordered our food at the counter, were given chips and then we picked our salsa to take to our table while our food was prepared. We both had a fish taco and thought it was delicious.

The restaurant also offers burritos, tostadas, chimichangas, nachos, quesadillas, chile rellenos, fajitas, tamales, shrimp rancheros, carne asadas, taquitos, etc, not to mention Mexican breakfast items on the weekend. Soft drinks, margaritas, wine and beer are available.

My friend and I had a lot to catch up on and as a result, we sat at our table for a long time (weekday, not crowded). We did not feel like we needed to rush. The ambiance is a little lacking, but for good food while walking around Old Town, I recommend Rosa's.

There is free parking behind the restaurant, although limited. Temecula's beautiful civic center is a block away, so on your way out, drive further back on Main Street to see the pretty complex and town square.

Very cafe style with restaurant prices. I'm okay with this as I really love their vegetarian tostado; also the chips and the salsa bar are very good! Its always very clean and the service is amazingly quick. There is outdoor and indoor seating too...TV on inside restaurant and bar--which can be a pro or con depending on who you are :-) but plenty of seating where TV isn't visible.

Sounds like fun but it really is nothing more than a fast food restaurant. You stand in line to order, your order is given to you on cheap paper plates and you sit in a dirty, dingy area to eat the mediocre mexican food.

Great place. Not a sit-down restaurant (walk-up and order type). Food was excellent. Several salsas. Free chips with order. Kids meals are reasonable and come with two items and a drink. Great for families. Nice atmosphere.
