We stopped at Rockafellas on a weekday before the lunch hour to try the pastrami. The restaurant is located in a fairly large shopping center so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant does not have a huge dining area. There are booths around the perimeter and some separate tables. When the server handed us the menu I could not believe how many items they served. They have a number of traditional Italian hot food items along with every sandwich you can think of. We were told the cook was originally from Jersey so I knew they knew how to prepare a sandwich. I was not wrong. I ordered the Pastrami on rye bread and it was enormous. The sandwich is served with a variety of kosher pickles and cole slaw or fries. The quality of the pastrami was outstanding. Little to no fat and very tender and nicely seasoned. My wife tried the patty melt and it was also very good. This is not a low price sandwich shop. Our meal with two iced teas was about 35 dollars. But I think the quality is so outstanding that it is worth shelling out the extra money. We will definitely be back.
