Description: PUBlic House roosts in the heart of Old Town Temecula among rustic, nostalgic buildings. Since 2009, we have served the finest fare in a truly unique restored home from the 1950s. PUBlic House is discreet at first glance. As you walk up to our hosts you only just hear the life music and busy, joyful activity tucked out back awaiting you. This aspect of PUBlic House always makes dining an intimate rendezvous. Whether you are having a sweet heart-to-heart in the patio garden or catching up with friends on the balcony, PUBlic House romances with charm. Our customers describe PUBlic House as "Chill" and "Funky Cool". It's true, Fridays through Sundays you will rock the rhythm of live music 'til the wee hours. Staff say Sundays are especially relaxing due to the clientele vibe and live acoustic music. Throughout the year, PUBlic House's patio garden remains relaxing with the hum of friends and family dining on fine food and drink that uncommonly delight them. You enjoy dining in many different seasons. So, in steamy summers the balcony and patio garden sparkle with mist. In winters we get it toasty with outdoor heaters and warm, rich menu items. Welcome to the family!

I have eaten here three times and each time it has been wonderful. It is an very small restaurant. Big plates of delicious food. The macaroni and cheese is incredible. They have an extensive local wine list and many unique types of beer. The best thing here is definitely the desserts. They serve a dessert which I believe is called, death by chocolate s'mores. So yummy. Oh my goodness. It is a huge platter of chocolate ganache cake completely covered with toasted marshmallows and graham crackers with an ooey gooey chocolate sauce. We always stop at Serendipity (a fantastic antique store next door when we are through with our lunch). This makes for a fun experience. I can't wait to go back!!!

Thanks to a previous post, I heeded the advice to skip the winery restaurants and visit this warm and inviting establishments in Old Town. From the greeter at the door, to the guests in the dining room, and especially our server -- I don't think we could have had a more enjoyable meal. The menu is creative and seasonal. Fish cooked perfectly. Interesting and delicious microbrews. Exceptional wine list. And bread pudding to die for! Do yourself a favor go to The Public

While wine tasting we were recommended to the public house. We sat outside in a beautiful patio, which was a plus! The menu looked okay, but when the food arrived we were blown away. I had the most flavorful veggie salad! The menu caters to anybodies taste. My mom got the vodka chicken pasta which was mind blowing. My cocktail cranberry vodka was made with natural cranberry juice, not that sweetened stuff you get at the bars. If you are wine tasting in the area you must visit!

The food is a little pricey $15 for a burger, but it was really good. They have a hugh outside seating area and we plan to go back the spring. Inside is very small and noisy. It is very close to the new city hall and I am sure they will be very busy when it opens.

We expected such a lot for this place - given previous reviews. Sadly we were really let down.

The greeter was very helpful in trying to get us a table, since you cannot book small parties. We had a drink at the outside bar first, which was full of atmosphere. After a short wait we were shown to our table and it was down hill from there on.

The waitress was far too enthusiastic and really over the top in everything she said - eventually she just grated on our whole party. The service was rushed from start to finish. So much so that we never had time to order wine, let alone drink it.

There was no break between our appetizers and our entrees. In fact the waitress was removing our plates before the first course was eaten.

The food was decidedly average, all of our main meals were tepid. My stroganoff bore no relation to it’s description on the menu.

We had come to Temecula for a farewell meal with friends, hoping for a leisurely meal. This was not the place for that.
