Leoness doesn't have the large expanse of other wineries such as Wilson Creek, but it does have a much more intimate setting. I've been here several times because it's the winery everyone always wants to go to when we go out tasting. There are reasons for that. The views are gorgeous. If you need to see Tuscany on a budget, I'd imagine this is about as close as you can get in this area of California. You absolutely have to go out on the patio and get some photos. As far as tasting experience, it's a more intimate setting. Tastings cost $15 here and are conducted in a more one-on-one setting. I've been to other wineries where they ask what you want, pour you a glass and shuffle over to someone else like a bartender during happy hour. Leoness, however, tends to lend more to conversation with those pouring the wine and they are much more likely to give you suggestions and listen to get a gauge on your personal preference. That makes this a great setting for novice wine drinkers who want to know more without embarrassment. Everyone who has served me there has been very down-to-earth. There are cool gifts in the winery entrance and usually live music on the weekends. Great place to buy a glass after tasting and relax on the patio listening to live acoustic musicians.

It's Temecula so nothing spectacular but this is as pretty as it gets! This is probably the nicest grounds in this dust-filled little town! I would visit if here!

My friend and i booked a wine tasting tour in Temecula not really knowing the quality of wines we would taste over the day. our tour guide decided to start our trip with Leoness cellars. The surroundings and the little building reminded me of wine tasting trips i had been on in France. so beautiful! we were greeted by Mercedes who took care of us on the visit. It was so nice to be able to talk to someone who not only is very knowledgeable but also passionate about it. Of all the wineries we visited on our trip, Mercedes was the outstanding one who really talked about the wines in a way that gives you that little sparkle in the eye. Of course, it's easier to be passionate when the wines are incredible! a little pricey on the more elaborate ones, but understandable.
we will definitely come back and recommend this wonderful place!

We had a great time and actually learned a lot. Mercedes was incredible, very knowledgeable and passionate about not only the vineyard but about wine & grapes. The view from Leoness is amazing. We went up during the week our only disappointment was that the restaurant was closed. The tour and tasting was well worth the money spent. Was well over three hours. The tasting that we got through living social includes wine pairing with cheese, fruit & truffles. Found a white merlot that was very good. Would definitely go back! This was as a 21 birthday celebration so it made for a great day. Better then just hitting the bars.
