“Absolutely perfect!”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

What can I say that has not already been said~

Chef Dean welcomed us and showed us to our room- We stayed in the Sauvignon Blanc, with it's own private patio that overlooked the down stairs patio, hot tub and the vineyards below. Room was clean. Updated furniture, bedding and bathrooms. Bathrobes, Hair dryer, shower cap.. Although they provided shampoo and body wash, I would bring my own next time-- and the soap was missing-- not a big deal but something to note-- There are no TV's in the bedrooms, which was nice- you don't come to temecula to watch TV.

Water cooler and fridge downstairs.
Fresh Coffee brewed at 7am with an Assortment of Teas and local Honey.
Between 8:30-9:30am Chef Dean served a 2 course Gourmet Breakfast . It was EXCELLENT!! Much better than any 5 star restaurant.
Chef Dean took the time to explain his dishes and all the ingredients he used, they way he built on flavors was magical!! He uses fresh fruits (grapefruits), herbs and spices from his garden!

He also recommended a wonderful italian restaurant for dinner (Gourmet Italia). He seems to know all the great spots around Temecula so make sure to ask him!

*Weather Note for April: Warm during the Day, a bit cold at night. 20-30 degree change.
coastal fog came in at night and early morning- burned off by 9am. typical spring in california- always pack a light jacket.

If you are looking for a cozy, comfortable, quiet, peaceful, getaway look no further!

We had a terrific time for my husband's birthday in mid-April. The true surprise were the 2 breakfasts we were so lucky to enjoy. Chef Dean is a wonder! He explains each course & the flavors are exceptional. We will return!

I hardly even need to write this, as it's all been said before, but I still want to stress how wonderful this inn is. We stayed midweek, which meant lots of peace and quiet and personal attention. Our room was lovely, a nice size with a very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and beautiful balcony overlooking the patio and the rolling hills of wine country.
As others have said, the breakfasts were simply incredible. The best breakfasts I've ever had, and I LOVE breakfast. They were hearty enough that we usually skipped lunch and just had a little snack before dinner, but they didn't leave you feeling overly full and gross.
The patio is situated perfectly for enjoying a bottle of wine while watching the sunset. There is a fire pit in the middle, which is nice for groups or on nights that are a little colder or windier, plus lots of somewhat private little nooks with outdoor love seats for a romantic evening. The fireplace in the living room is also a great little spot to enjoy your bottle of wine, especially if it rains like it did on one of our days there. The hot tub on the patio is very nice, but I couldn't figure out how to make it hotter so didn't stay in it long. (I never asked for help, so it's no one's fault but my own).

The *only* tiny complaint I would have is that the bathroom amenities were limited-- just shampoo, lotion, and body wash, not even a bar of soap for the sink? But, no big deal at all and I wonder if that was just an one-off oversight? I only say it because you may want to bring your own (which I had, so I never asked for more).

One last thing I enjoyed was the level of interaction with the inn keepers and other guests-- I thought it was just right. You could chat with people as much or as little as you want-- not like some B&Bs where you end up somewhat forced into by the close quarters. Oh, and there two little shitzhus are adorable and so so sweet. Really, it was just perfect.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the 'Zinfandel' room with gorgeous views from the private balcony. Chef Dean said...

New ownership and fully renovated since our first day stay, 9 years ago. We were warmly greeted by Chef Dean and shown to our beautiful room with a gorgeous view of Temecula wine country. The private patio was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed on our anniversary and were graciously given two complimentary wine tastings at the Europa Village Winery. The gourmet breakfast was delicious! Chef Dean even accomodated our gluten allergy! We plan to be back soon!

When you are used to staying in hotels with large rooms with 2 queen beds and sitting rooms and absolutely MUST have the room, this locale might be something you might need to get used to, but if you want a very personable experience complete with a more intimate setting, welcoming hosts in the tradition of Bed and Breakfasts, then this is your place.
We were welcomed by Chef Dean and two adorable little doggies as our welcoming committee. They were clearly as friendly as the hosts! Our rooms were beautifully decorated with a little balcony where we drank our morning coffee one morning and had a chat with Chef Dean as he was below tending to the garden.
We had a bottle of their wonderful chardonnay waiting for us with a delicious cheese plate with a great variety of cheeses (blue cheese, cheddar ) and fruits, nuts and some bread and crackers.
If you MUST have a television, there is one downstairs in the common area, but we brought books and magazines and found the peace and quiet relaxing and quite soothing.
The first breakfast was an amazing experience with Chef Dean explaining the ingredients, many of which came from the garden where we admired the view of the vineyards in the late afternoon.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to partake very much of the patio as it was raining one whole day we were there, but we found the next morning the aroma in the air after the rain was refreshing and we were close enough to Old Town and other places of interest to have quite a full day. The next morning, we could hardly wait to see what Chef Dean had made for us at breakfast.
Also, the patio has a hot tub and many welcoming places to sit and contemplate or have a conversation with some of the other guests

Room Tip: I definitely plan to return, especially around the time when they have special winetasting events in...

Every part of the stay was excellent. You felt like you were staying with friends. The room was great, Chef Dean and Nicole were the best hosts. Chef Dean's breakfasts were to die for and should be on TV. The B & B was set up very well - the large patio had plenty of seating, a beautiful fire pit and a hot tub. The location was perfect and the wine was great as well. Don't be afraid to ask Chef Dean his recommendations for dinner and wine tours. We will be back. PS - my wife and I travel quite a bit and this is the first place we were inspired to write a review on - it was that nice.

Room Tip: Let Chef Dean pick that out for you when you call to make a reservation.
