I would have given it a 1 out of 5 except the room was decent (although the bathroom needed to be cleaned better) and fairly good size. The Internet did not work and they blamed the provider yet the one computer in the lobby was connected to it. The first person at the front desk blamed the provider. There were several firefighters there for an extended period and one wanted to communicate with his young children but was unable to due to the Internet. Later we find out it was the hotels equipment. The breakfast was much like an earlier review with the broken waffle maker, lack of fresh fruit, etc. the milk was served in an albertson's gallon jug and they ran out only an hour into breakfast. Since only one person was there he had to wait a half an hour to run to the store. Parking lot in the morning was littered with beer cans, trash, and even a dead, bluejay that appeared to be there for awhile. On top of that they charge our friends $129 for a king suite that the bathroom lights and fan had a motion device and kept coming on during the night. It spooked them, but there were no signs of rodents setting. It off. The only hotel of the three we stayed on I would not recommend. Much better places in town or a short drive to Bakersfield. Also the restroom near the lobby was dirty without toilet paper.

The newly opened restaurant next door had very great food and excellent service. Not super organized but that was fine as the service and food was awesome!

The service at this hotel was excellent. I hghly recommend it. They were great about accomodating me with a non-smoking room. The staff was very knowledgeable about the area and readily shared information about it. Checking in and out was efficient and quick. The bedrooms and bathrooms were sparkling clean, the surrounding area was clean of any debri. It had a brand new look! I regret not being able to stay longer to enjoy the cool pool, but I had to work then next day and we had to be on our way. First time we stayed at a La Quinta and definitely will be one of our favorites!

The room was fine, but the breakfast was not up to par with other La Quinta's we have stayed at. Bread selection pathetic - white, wheat bread and chocolate chip mini muffins. That's all. No bananas either and waffle iron was not working. Disappointing

Able to get a room at the last minute for around $80. Room clean. No elevator for the physically-challenged. Could not connect to WiFi in our room. I could get a very weak signal from the lobby downstairs. Asked about the WiFi issue and I was told that the connection "should" work and we could try "other" connections. The desk clerk did not look into the issue any further. We had Internet connectivity at every other hotel on our trip besides this one. In this day and age, Internet connectivity is a necessity, not a luxury. I ended up on my tablet with a weak signal sitting in the lobby. Not bad, but definitely not condusive. We were happy with the room as a whole, but the WiFi issue has, unfortunately, broken my connectivity with La Quinta Inns.
