“Horrendous service”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

If one's idea of fine dining and quality is being greeted by a stressed out hostess, BLARING music from an empty dining area, slower than slow attention to our table (is it tough for bread or a server to make it in less than 15 minutes?), a worker loudly discussing her nighttime plans with young men drinking at the next table, and, top it off, an appearance by a combative and unprofessional server during a family dinner, then by all means please consider this place. Yup, it happened to my family during an otherwise gorgeous day in North Lake Tahoe. Otherwise, there is really nothing good to say about this restaurant. Perhaps they do have a very good single malt wine list. But seriously, not sure who they are trying to attract with this type of service. At the same price point, but with a totally different approach to service and atmosphere, I'd strongly the amazing new restaurant a quarter mile down the road- The Rustic Lounge.

“Great food, lake view”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

Dropped in on Saturday night @ 7pm after a full day at the beach and though they were booked, seated us within 10 minutes. My family of 4 all had great meals. My blackened rib eye steak @ $24 was on of the best I ever had! The calamari app ($12) was HUGE, greaseless and delicious...plenty for 4 to share. The kids had the Mac n cheese app that could easily feed 2 as an entree. The wedge salad w blue cheese cheese was topped with 2 full strips of bacon. The sour cherry and apricot bread pudding ($8) was exceptional. The kids split a banana split ($8.50) and were happy campers. Great and reasonable wine list bottle or glass. Only caviate is to sit in the tented patio (we did) as the dinning room can get pretty warm on a summer evening. Service was good and our food came in a timely manner even though the place was packed. Definitely going back!

“Delicious food !”
Reviewed August 19, 2012 via mobile

Probably the best food we have had in our US trip so far ! Classy atmosphere (they could only change the horrible paintings on the walls for something more trendy). Efficient service, good Pino Noir. Exactly the opposite of a "eat has much as you can"; we love it !
