We did a 3 week trip around California in October and the meal we enjoyed here was definitely one of the 2 best meals we experienced on our whole trip. Full marks to the staff for excellent service and full marks to the kitchen staff for a delicious meal, using locally sourced ingredients. A wonderful experience. If you are in the area, you must try - you won't be disappointed!

I just came home from a 3 week trip to California and this was, by far, the best restaurant. the food is very refined without the usual cream and cheese and whatever toppings, the wine was great. It was up to very high standards. I can only recommend this restaurant to everyone passing by or visiting the Cedar Lodge. The second night of our stay we went to Tahoe City to dine & I still regret every moment of that. Next time I visit the Cedar Glen Lodge, I will not dine out anywhere else. It was also very fair priced.

We had a party of 6 and had one of the most delicious meals ever. The cuisine was unique, especially for Tahoe food, we were very impressed. The problem was, the restaurant is small and unfortunately, it took quite a long time to be served. The food was worth the wait and we were not in a hurry. This is a great place to have a wonderful, leisurely meal, Friends of ours that had a later reservation at 7:30 were not happy when they still weren't seated at 8:00. The restaurant was very accommodating and brought them appetizers, which I thought was great, but it was very frustrating for them. It wasn't the restaurant's fault as a party that came in at 5:30 were taking their time which delayed service. So, my suggestion would be to tell customers the restaurant has specific seatings and the next seating is at (such and such a time) to make ready for the next reservation.

We ate here twice whilst staying at the lodge. It's always really pleasing to see somewhere busywith locals as well as visitors and in this case, rightly so. Service was fantastic, very attentive and excellent hosts. The food was imaginative and delicious, we all thoroughly enjoyed every dish. We loved it. Will be back again, sadly not for a few years yet.

The other reviewers certainly steered us in the right direction. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Nothing else we had in our 6 day stay in the area was even close to this place. The flavours in our two seafood dinners were unusual but quite interesting and tasty. This is a very small place so be sure to reserve well in advance. In the current season it is closed on Monday and Tuesday but check as the closings may change with the seasons.
