We were impressed by Firelite on our recent stay in N. Tahoe. This quaint family owned hotel provided everything we needed, and was in a nice quiet area of Tahoe Vista. It's right across the street from beach access with rentals for kayaks, SUPs, and boats. They even rent bikes from the hotel lobby. It's got a nice hot hub/pool and we were only ones using it for two nights in a row! The rooms are very clean, having underwent recent renovations. They come equipped w/Kitchenettes (fridge, sink, microwave) There is also a free breakfast included in the hotel fare. (waffles, boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, pastries, toast). For the price, this place is a great value in North Tahoe. We'll be back. Thanks Firelight!

Room Tip: 2nd or 3rd floors for lake views

Great location across from public beach and rentals. no frills. I love having a balcony and in room fridge and microwave.. Clean rooms, and nice breakfast. Great bike rental rates. I will definitely return regularly since I live only two hours away.

Room Tip: 3rd floor level has best views

My husband and two teenaged children and I stayed here for three weeknights in June 2012. The view of the lake from our top floor room was spectacular. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was ample and we felt sated each morning. The room was clean and we found the location (right across from the lake in Tahoe Vista) to be superb. We didn't find the highway to be too noisy and it was great to be away from the casino scene. We'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a top floor room so you can see the lake.

A gem this place!! We stayed for week and could not have asked for better service. The place is clean and well kept and quiet!! Many Restaurants nearby and the owners can tell you all about each one!! Has a pool and spa and is right across the street from the lake and a beach! We recommend this place highly!!

We stayed at the Firelite combined with the cabin they own which is right nearby (but listed separately), with a group of 16 people, several with food sensitivities. It was a perfect place for this and an excellent value.

We fit six in the cabin, which also provided our kitchen, grill, yard, and living room for the group. The other ten stayed in the Firelite motel rooms, which they found clean and comfortable, and the little kids loved the small pool. They let those of us staying in the cabin use the pool and hot tub since our group had guests at the motel.

There was a sand swimming beach, a beautiful rocky beach which made for excellent sunset pictures, and kayak rental immediately across the street, and a Safeway just down the road -- it was a really fantastic place to have a diverse group. Making our own food saved costs too.

The owners Beata and Peter were very helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. It's a motel, and doesn't look like much from the outside, but the important thing is function. My pregnant sister-in-law said it was the best night of sleep she's had recently! I highly recommend it for the value.

This is a family run hotel, where they pay close attention to details. The hot tub is clean, the breakfast is good, with excellent coffee. The swimming pool is clean. Note that there's no A/C in the rooms, which I thought would be a problem, but it wasn't; it doesn't get that hot, there's good shade and the air is so dry you are your own swamp cooler there.

The hotel is not that pricey (for Tahoe) and a good place for families. I liked the hot tub.
Easy walking access to the beach, restaurants, grocery.

Room Tip: Ask for a Lake View room.

I'm leaving here today after four days at the Firelite Lodge. I love this place. It is located right across the street from the Lake and a very pretty stretch of beach. My room is well equipped with a frig, microwave, coffee maker and a balcony for sitting and watching the Lake.

The place is spotless. The breakfast is good too...waffles, several kinds of breads for toasting as well as muffins, fresh fruit, juice, hot chocolate...a much bigger selection than you'd find at my house.

The staff are friendly and very helpful.

This is my first stay in this hotel and at this end of the Lake but I hope it won't be my last.

Room Tip: I didn't use the spa so I can't evaluate that except that it is pretty and there is a pool t...
