Cedar Glen Lodge is the amazing, well managed hotel with convenient location and friendly staff. My family has spent five unforgettable days there enjoying each of them. Cottage with fully equipped kitchen, new furniture, and nice bed linen were above our expectations.

Room Tip: If you do not want to spend money in resaurants, you need choose cottage with full kitchen.

We stayed on the second floor studio towards the back of the property. Very quiet, room was very cute and clean, and the price was very reasonable. I will totally recommend this lodge to all my friends and family.

This was the first time we visited Lake Tahoe, and we stayed at Cedar Glen Lodge for five days. The hotel is on the quiet side of the lake which made the stay most enjoyable. The owners Martha and Alan were very nice and showed us all the great places to visit. What is great about Tahoe is that even if you can't find what you are looking for you find something awesome to see. What a place! I really enjoyed the fruit in the lobby, and I can't wait to go back.

After reading these excellent reviews we booked one night at this hotel during our road trip though California. We got room #30 at the back of the property, which has a beautiful view on the lake. As this hotel was a stop on our road trip we did not have much time to explore the breathtaking area around Lake Tahoe. The owner of Cedar Glen Lodge quickly advised us some highlights to visit, as well as restaurants to go to.
We're not sure whether it was the beauty of the lake or the friendliness of the owner, but it didn't took long till we decided to book an extra night.

Like mentioned in all other reviews I have read, the service is really outstanding. Upon checkout time we even got offered that when we needed some more advice during the rest of our road trip, we just had to call them and they would be happy to help out!

Many hotels can learn from this one on how to treat guests and make sure they have a relaxing stay.

In short I would say: book this hotel when visiting Lake Tahoe, you won't find a more hospitable place. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

We stayed in a studio cabin at the end of August and it was exactly what we were looking for. All clean, charming, friendly and pretty. Martha and her family were lovely as were the other guests. Everyone gave us very precious advice for the rest of our trip. The pool is great, the location is superb and all in all the 3 nights we spent there were perfect. It's a beautiful part of the world and a very charming place to stay.

My wife, Donna, and I spent two nights here Sept 9-11th. It was not enough time.

A lot of the reviews say that Cedar Glen is "rustic", but it is so much more than that.

First, though, I have to say that Martha and Alan are amazing owners/hosts. From the minute you arrive you feel like an old friend. We had originally booked a room in the "motel building" part of the property, but Martha suggested we look at some of the other choices and took us to about 4 rooms. We really liked Cabin 7 and decided to change. Nothing wrong with our original room, just that #7 really talked to us. It was a little more money, but well worth it.

Martha and Alan gave us much info on where to go and what to do. Breakfast was good, although we did miss out on the usual weekend extras because of the construction, which, by the way, was NOT a problem at all. Nor was the road that ran in front of the property. It was so quiet at night you could hear a pine cone drop. We are usually not joiners with other guests, but the fire pit was so inviting we couldn't resist and had a great time meeting guests from other parts of the country and eating S'mores.

Cedar Glen is the best of both worlds. It's rustic, but it is also modern where it counts: the bed, kitchen, shower were all updated. Flat Screen HDTV in the living room with plenty of channels. Hi-speed wireless internet. CD player in the room. Well-stocked kitchen cabinets. Etc.... So, if you wanted to be feel like you were in the 1960's and get away from it all, you could. If you need the modern necessities, you've got 'em too.

All in all, a real winner. We need to go back!

Room Tip: There is no elevator for the second floor of the "motel" building, so if stairs are a prob...

We stayed in a studio cabin which was very clean and modern. Customer service was great, offering suggestions of things to see in the area and restaurants. The only improvement would have been to have a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Because there are bears in the area, we were instructed to close the windows at night and it was kind of stuffy in the small bedroom without a fan or air conditioning. We stayed in early September - summer would likely be worse. But all in all, a very nice place to stay in a relatively quiet area of Lake Tahoe.
