We stayed at Shore Camp for a ski trip. It is a beautiful home with a prime location. So many great things about the house that we enjoyed. The lake views are breathtaking, especially during sunrise. So close to the lake, my husband felt compelled to jump in the freezing water! No worries, the spa tub in the master bath is very helpful after a day of skiing. Everything is brand new and beautiful. Super comfy bed, like sleeping on a cloud, deluxe bedding and towels, loved the LED dining table. This home was great for a couples’ retreat and we hope to bring our kids with us the next time out. It would also be a great spot for two families-there is plenty of room! The home was convenient for our trips to Squaw Valley and Northstar. We loved the gourmet kitchen (fully stocked with spices/utensils/pots/pans/etc.) and enjoyed both cooking dinner in and dining out in Tahoe City. If you go out, stop at Wolfdale’s for the happy hour (great food and drink specials) and the gf chocolate torte. Tahoe City is cute, lots of shops and great restaurants, walkable distance from Shore Camp. The staff at the ski shop in town were very knowledgeable.
This home is above and beyond all our expectations. The second you walk through the door, you find yourself in awe of the decor, views, and coziness of this beautiful home. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kitchen impeccable and a joy to cook in, and the living areas were used fully by our family. Found it very easy to pop to the store and back as Savemart is just down the street, plenty of tasty restaurants to go to, but also 15 minutes from Squaw, since that is where we ski'd. Shorecamp is a must if you are ever planning to stay in Tahoe City.
We loved Shore Camp!!! This was our second visit, this time during the first week of May when winter was winding down but summer had not started yet. It was an incredible stay mostly because of the wonderful location. Everything is so close that you can fit in a lot of fun activities. It is just a 5 minute walk to downtown Tahoe City where you can find an abundance of restaurants/bar/groceries, rent kayaks and SUP boards, etc. There is a trail crossing through the woods that takes you directly from Shore Camp to downtown Tahoe City, so you don't have to walk on the main road. Walk 1 minute and you're at the huge pier that is part of Tahoe Tavern, where Shore Camp is located. Also, although while we were there the Tahoe Tavern pool was closed for the winter, we could tell it's large and looks nice. On Friday we enjoyed some Spring (Summer?) skiing at Squaw, a 9 minute drive from Shore Camp, which adds to the magic of this place! Finally, we played some tennis on the well maintained Tahoe Tavern courts.
The House: we enjoyed just chilling at the house too. It has a very nice chef kitchen and a dining table with incredible color LED lighting. The family room is literally 50 feet from the lake: we both enjoyed eating on the outdoor table on the patio and chilling on the family room couch enjoying the views. My wife and I really liked the master bedroom and its jacuzzi style deep tub. The tub is so deep that it takes a good 15 minutes to fill it up! We will definitely try to be back this summer although it looks like it's almost fully booked already.
