We had several meals here during our weeks stay in Tahoe City, we ate on the deck during the day and in the bar at night and it was really good. The food is excellent, always busy with a great atmosphere and beautiful scenery.

It was our first trip to Lake Tahoe and Sunnyside and found both sensational. There were 6 adults and one fussy baby and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Sunnyside serves excellent western American fare including Elk, which is superb. The salads were all excellent, zuchinni strips, steaks, pork and seafood trio were delicious and cooked very well. The staff asks you specifically how you want your meat done because so many people have different tastes and preferences. You really cannot beat the view plus it was one of those wonderful full moon evenings where we watched it rise up into the sky and light up the lake. Even though we had reservations through the owner, we had to wait about 15 minutes. It was tough with a baby but somewhat understandable seeing it was the weekend of Tahoe's first Ironman, which was the reason we were there. Wine was excellent too!! We will definitely come back, this was a great hit with our group.

Had the fish tacos-grilled the best meal ever. My husband had the turkey sandwich very good. We have been to the restaurant on 3 separate occasions and have never had a bad meal. The restaurant has a deck that has great views of the lake and mountains. Recommend Sunnyside to anyone going to Lake Tahoe it is the best. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful setting for this hotel. We ate here twice: once in the bar and once in the restaurant. The bar meal was fine with great service. The restaurant meal was good too, but we had to wait a very long time for a table. I was also a bit concerned to be asked how I wanted my pork cooked - surely all pork needs to be cooked all the way through and really thoroughly! The large picture windows to the lake were open which made the inside restaurant rather cold and draughty. However, service was caring on the whole (if a little slow) and the food was delicious.

We enjoyed a fantastic lunch snack at the sunnyside, and came for the hula pie. The shrimp, crab and avocado salad was TREMENDOUS!!!! It was just the right amount to split the salad and the pie. The hula pie was pretty good, with its Oreo cookie crust, hit fudge, macadamian nuts... Mmmmmm...

Fantastic view to go with this wondrous meal! Oh, and my superb Mai tai :d
