“A must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

Museum is a small treasure of Native American Baskets & other history of Lake Tahoe. Don't forget to tour the entire outside area. There's a dam to view & a pretty, shady area with picnic tables for enjoying lunch.

“Baskets and Bears...oh my!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013

A must see while in the north Tahoe area, next to the Fanny Bridge, hidden amongst the trees with a lovely garden walk by the lake, is just the cutest museum. A huge collection of Indian baskets and a nice display and educational section on bears. pleasantly surprised by the amount of baskets and Indian artifacts in this collection which has been beautifully displayed in an original cabin.

“Interesting Tahoe history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

Very interesting - you'll find some history of the Lake and how it was settled. You'll get to watch water spilling into the Truckee River. There are picnic tables where it is nice to have a picnic and enjoy views of the Lake.

“If you're interested in baskets ...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

This is one of those scratch-your-head places ... what is it doing here?! If you're interested in Native American baskets of the west coast, this funny little place has the best collection I've ever seen. A docent at the little history museum in South Lake Tahoe recommended it and it was well, well worth the 45 minute drive. The little gift shop is filled with related items. Amazing find.
