My husband and I drove up to this scenic overlook when we first came into South Lake Tahoe. It is just a few miles up the road from the town but be aware that they are very high and curvy miles if that type of thing scares you. We were there on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and it was PACKED but we still were able to find a parking space across the street. The views of Emerald Bay are beautiful and there are several plaque displays providing you with a bit of history for the area. Worth the trip if you have a little extra time.
