I ate here once back in April of 1986 and "Susan the Egg Lady" is still on the menu! It's the best ham and cheese omelet you can eat!

We had gone to Summerland to do some wine tasting and needed a place to stop for lunch. Of the places available, the Summerland Cafe appeared to be the best, so we went there.

They were seating outside, and they allowed us to pick our table, which was a nice touch. Our waitress was prompt and cheerful and discussed the menu with us. She was knowledgeable about the different food options and gave us recommendations.

I had the teriyaki chicken sandwich. It was pretty good, but not great. There wasn't a lot of teriyaki on the chicken, and the chicken was just slightly overcooked (but not dry). One option I chose that came with the sandwich was onion rings - they were HUGE! And tasty.

My wife had the fish tacos, which again were good but not great.

The restaurant is 'dog friendly,' but they do limit where the dogs can sit. So our section was dog free, but just below us there were a couple of dogs. If you don't like dining with animals, this is not the place for you.

Overall, it was a lot of food for a very reasonable price, so I would recommend it. If you find yourself in Summerland, which is a small town a few miles south of Santa Barbara, you should give this place a try.

Had Sunday breakfast here, and enjoyed it. They are known for their bacon, and it did not disappoint. Omelets, waffles, etc, you can find it all, with good portions and decent prices for this area. A parking lot right across the street, just for the cafe, sealed the deal for this big Ford driver!. Not easy to park anywhere in Santa Barbara!

Went for lunch with family members including two dogs. Very popular restaurant and had to wait a little while for a table on the deck with room for the dogs. We all enjoyed the food and the friendly and helpful service. Would recommend it on the basis of quality and value for money.
