“Bring a huge appetite!”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

Most reviews on this old time favorite are mixed but you need to go with the right attitude. This is old fashioned home cooking with large portions. The help are young and cute girls. They are fast. Sometimes when they are busy the drink service gets slow. Don't get upset, just get up and go get the waitress. They will apologize and fill'er up right away. We always stop here for breakfast or lunch.

“Good for Breakfast”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

A good location for a wholesome and complete breakfast with excellent service and reasonable prices. The restaurant is off Route 101 and the ocean is visible from the porch and restaurant in Summerland.

“1st time for breakfast but it won't be the last.”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

We travel to Pismo Beach at least twice a year and this is the first opportunity to stop for breakfast on our way home.

Our breakfast was delicious and our service was outstanding. Coffee and tea refills were made very promptly. Our food arrived piping hot and was very good. The potatoes reminded me of my own fried potatoes and onions. Sausage was very good.

I would have liked my English Muffin a little more crisp but that's just me. My husband thought it was just right.

We will definitely put this on our short list to stop for breakfarst.

“Charming with great atmosphere”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Stopped at the beach cafe for lunch, and we loved the place. Great atmosphere. There was a line vaiting, but it was well worth the wait. Both outdoor and indoor seating, it can be a bit chilly, so bring a sweather and enjoy eating out on the terrace. The food was great, with good portions at a reasonable price. Dog friendly.

“Nice place to stop on the Coast”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

We were heading up to Santa Ynez when we stopped here for breakfast. A friend of ours recommended this place and now so will we. Nice comfortable little eatery set in a late 1800s house the SBC offers a nice little coastal setting with a good selection for breakfast. The food was very good a reasonably priced. They have outdoor seating here but because it was overcast we ate indoors in a very cramped booth (Only drawback) The server was very friendly and there is authentic decor all over the restaurant. Also, like a lot of beachside eateries this one is dog friendly. Can't wait to come back next summer.
