Having passed by this restaurant many times on our way home, we decided to finally give it a try. Glad we did and plan on going again when my husband's travels (he is an OTR truck driver) bring him home again. Food delicious, friendly service....enjoy!

We stopped into Love Cafe as we were going through Stockton. It is just a couple of long blocks off the freeway in a strip mall. Nothing fancy in the decor or seating, just a few tables. The good news was the food was really tasty, worth spending your money and time on. The owner is from Louisiana and cooks true cayun food. She is very nice and interesting to talk to if you get the chance but the food is worth it, even if you get take out. So go for great tasting, authentic cayun food, enjoy.

This small, simple cafe, tucked away in a row of storefronts next to a smog test shop, may have the best Southern-style food anywhere in California! We ordered a fried shrimp and catfish plate with collard greens and red beans & rice as sides, plus pecan pie for dessert, and each item was of gourmet quality. My wife, a southern girl who has just come back from ten days on Alabama's Gulf Coast (including the annual Shrimp Festival), said the food was better than at any of the ten or so restaurants she and her sisters visited there. "Mama Love", the proprietor and cook, hails from Louisiana, and the food she offers here is extraordinary. Don't be fooled by the utilitarian furniture and disposable plates; the food here is at an entirely different level. And, these folks are motivated by love for people, as they dedicate themselves to feeding the poor and homeless in their community on a weekly basis.
