Lived here for 1.5 years straight on FIFO basis and got used to the place. It's pretty average for the central coal fields unless one heads to the bigger towns but the place has been around for a while and has a fairly good reputation.
Value for money it is not but staying anywhere in the coal fields comes at a price premium and most motels around the country overcharge anyway. Food is good there and so is the included breakfast when it's on. When I was staying there the TV's were upgraded to LCDs and free internet access was given in room via cable.... Bonus!
Lucky my company was paying. I think the rate was $165 a night when the real value is around $95. But as I mentioned, I have never come across a motel that charges the correct price for the standard of accommodation, or caravan park.
Overall it's a fairly decent place with friendly staff and good service. Highly recommended and better than the local MAC camp in my case.
