“Great value for a nice getaway in the LA area”

We especially appreciated the wine and cheese each evening, the friendly and accomodating owner and staff, and the comfortable atmosphere of this inn. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the LA area.

What a great place - perfect combination of history (style of home), hospitality (hostess is a delight) and fine "eats" (delicious breakfast, wine and snacks). The views are gorgeous from the hilltop.

We traveled with very good friends to attend the Breeder's Cup Horse races at the Santa Anita Racetrack. This is our second year staying with Pat and we would every year, if the races were always held in Pasadena. The Inn is beautiful and the breakfasts are beyond 5 star. The Inn is tucked away up a long driveway. There is a beautiful open porch where we sat every night for cocktails. Pat opened some beautiful wines for us. The inn is located just minutes from the Arroyo and the Rose Bowl which allows for beautiful morning runs. For business travelers, I would think this is like coming home to a beautiful living room to unwind after a days work.

My fiancé (now husband) and I found this place through a coworkers recommendation. We live in the Los Angeles area and were looking for a place to stay after our wedding in Pasadena (we also wanted a nice place to take family pictures). The Arroyo Vista Inn is an amazing place to stay. It is beautiful and relaxing. Pat (the owner) was extremely nice and helpful in anything we needed and truly loves what she does. Breakfast is cooked by Pat and is delicious. It served as a beautiful backdrop for our wedding pictures and was a nice place to get ready and relax both before and after our wedding. Can't say enough good things about this place.

life long pasadena residents didn't know this incredible secret exisisted. thats how secluded this beautiful bed and breakfast is. our stay there was a gift to us from our generous cousins on behalf of their 35th wedding anniversary party, comming from our little country town of tehachapi to this marvelous inn was nothing more than spectacular. thank you mike, debbie, and owner pat for a memorable weekend

I had a very pleasant stay at the Arroyo Vista Inn with my family. We were visiting Southern California for the Rose Bowl. I was impressed by the established from the moment we first pulled into the driveway. We followed the windy driveway to the inn which is built into the side of a hill. It reminded of a villa in Spain or Tuscany. There are plenty of places where you could hang outside and just enjoy the view. The service there was fantastic. Pat, the owner, was very accommodating. There is complementary wine and cheese every night. The rooms were immaculate. The wireless internet signal was always very good.Pat is also fantastic cook. She made delectable omelettes that had salmon and asparagus in them! She even made us orange juice that was freshly squeezed from oranges that grew right outside. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this place for anyway who needs a place to stay near LA, but also would like a tranquil place to relax.

We stayed here for two nights in August. Before finding Arroyo Vista Inn, I had searched small boutique hotels in LA as well as the Huntington in Pasadena and we made the best choice by staying at this Inn. The responsiveness and friendliness of the owner, Pat, and Jenny, who was on the staff were the first of many pleasantries we encountered. The setting, the common areas, and the rooms are quiet, comfortable, and elegantly appointed - a cut above what you would expect out of a B&B.

We were able to view all of the rooms, as we were the only guests our first night. You couldn't go wrong with any of them. Although the room I chose was not the largest available, it was spaciously arranged with a plush queen bed, comfortable reading chair, large desk, and roomy bathroom. In addition, we had two large windows and a door leading out to the second floor porch.

The property is immaculately clean. We enjoyed the self-serve fridge with cold drinks and availability of homemade cookies. Breakfasts included a fruit course followed by a creative main dish, such as asparagus fritata and were served in the dining room with lots of natural light. We saw toffee being made one morning which was offered as a bedtime treat in the room. It was excellent! The living room included many coffee table books of Pasadena and Craftsmen architecture as well as an interesting selection of current magazines.

The same understated elegance on the inside was applied to the landscaping and outside lounge area. The environment promotes relaxation.
