3 days here intending to tour the area including Yosemite. In fact a little too far to keep returning to Yosemite but plenty of great things in the region.

Fairly standard mid range Best Western but good sized well equipped room, great friendly and helpful staff got us to the best things to see and do. Managers welcome drinks was a great way to get everyone feeling good about the place and theres pleny around to feel good about. Free interent access in reception and wifi also though a little unstable. Hotel also has a good small pool in the courtyard between its 2 wings. Also the restaurant on the site was very good and good value. Buffet breakfast taken here and the upgraded discount for full breakfast was excellent.

Great spot to tour the area. Sonora itself a great little town with a number of small restaurants and particularly recommend a trip to Columbia State Park for a bit of living history. Jamestown also well worth a visit.

60 mile trip to the heart of Yosemite including the amazing winding road between Mocassin and Priest on the 120 but Yosemite is a must. We will be back.

Thank you for attending our Managers Reception; we are happy that you enjoyed the wine, beer or soft drinks and appetizers. Our high speed wireless internet has 1500 up/down through our T-1 line and has 24/7 tech support.
We are glad that you had a chance to enjoy the historical parks, Columbia and Jamestown.
Thank you for promising to return; we will keep the light on for you! -Christopher Link

I stayed here some years ago and was not overly impressed and left with memories of outdated furniture, clunky airconditioners and overall drabness. However, I recently had to book a room here for a family event and was pleasantly surprised to see the results of a recent renovation. My room was in the "executive" wing and the bed and furnishings were new and very clean and comfortable. The room itself was large and included a small fridge, a microwave, and a little deck off the back looking out on trees. The only thing that could still use some updating was the artwork on the wall which was very 80s hunting lodge - minor detail though! All the staff were very friendly and seemed proud of recent improvements - supposedly they are renovating the rest of the property in the near future. Other nice features of the hotel include the pool area, a barbecue area with gas grill for guest use, and the basic but free breakfast offered at the adjoining restaurant (heartier breakfast discounted if you want to upgrade). Really the only issue was that I feel the rooms are a bit on the expensive side considering the location, but I guess they are taking advantage of the lack of comparable options in the area. Overall, this is one of the better choices if you are visiting Sonora, especially if you are with family - plenty of room for everyone! They also allow pets, which could be a plus for some.

Under new ownership, we have made major renovation to the exterior and rooms. We are so happy that you noted these improvements! We always enjoyed the hotel, but the remodel has made so many guests happy.
Your detail about the large room, desk/patio and wooded setting were very helpful.
We added that bbq area with tables last year. Thank you again for the well thoughout review and suggestions. -Christopher Link

We took a gamble in making reservations here not knowing much about the area or Best Westerns for that matter. Let me tell you that this hotel was the absolute best value of all the places we stayed in northern California. Beyond the great value was the friendliness of the check in staff, on site restaurant and lounge, and service staff. We felt very welcome.

At check-in the staff had prepared a nice reception that included beer, wine, soda, water, coffee, cheese, crackers, olives, poppers, and even quiche. No charge and well done.

The hotel is a little older but charming. The room we had was a suite, it was huge and clean. The pool was also charming and very clean with a hot tub. There were several families with kids at the pool which was nice.

The restaurant "The Pine Tree" has really good food for great prices. They make just about all the usual dishes with breakfast served all day. They have great service as well. Do take advantage of any offers from the hotel that include meals at the restaurant. You shouldn't be disappointed.

We would definitely stay here again. Keep in mind that Sonora is a small town and the hotel is also "small town". However, out of all our stops on this Northern California vacation this hotel was our favorite.

I was for my son's boy scout summer camp to rest here. The room is so clean and quiet. There are microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair drier, iron, iron board, and wireless. We arrived a little bit earlier than the check-in time (3pm.) The receptionists (Lori, and two other ladies) in the front office were so helpful, friendly, and patience to give us every information we needed (ie the firework in the town, the room we prefer.) After we checked in, the manager from the front office also called us to make sure if our room was OK. A restaurant is just in front of the hotel. We get our free breakfast here. The service there is great too. The shopping area is only less than one mile from the hotel, There are Longs, McDonald, TJ Max, Price Cut supermarket, Great Wall Chinese Restaurant. We'll definitely come back here in the future.

I stayed several times at the BW Sonora Oaks from December 2007 through March 2008, combining personal family business with liesure activities, and would not hesitate to stay there again, especially with some of the great deals occasionally available through the on-line hotel/motel discounters. I had clean, comfortable rooms at very reasonable rates. The only compaint I had on any of the stays was a minor one - the maid didn't clean coffee maker or leave new coffee supplies and did not leave new shampoo & conditioner one time. However, the front desk was very prompt in bringing the overlooked items upon my request. The motel provides various discount vouchers for breakfasts & dinners at next door restaurant - The Pine Tree - which I found to be a very good eatery.
