“Que rico!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

Juanita does tacos right, also salsa, chips, salads, beans. . .you can't go wrong. This is our new go-to on the drive between SF and Sonoma. Quick, fresh, and full of authentic flavor. Follow the locals and those from the city who can't get enough of their excellent Mexican cantina food. Mas Juanita!

“Funky and Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Juanita's doesn't look like much on the outside unless you like diners and dives (and I do). But don't let the exterior put you off, just go inside: the service and food are terrific! Although the menu looks typical for a Mexican restaurant it really isn't prepared in the now standard Cal-Mex taqueria manner. The approach is to interpret and and be influenced by rather than copy--this is Sonoma County after all. For example, the rice is made from their own recipe and has the flavours you associate with Mexico but I bet you won't have tasted rice exactly like this before. And you will look in vain for refried beans. If the fish tacos are on special, order them for a real treat. And, oh by the way, don't fill up on the chips and homemade salsa while waiting for your food--it's easy to do they are so good!

“Fun fresh & tasty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

Fun little spot to grab lunch. Tiny but terrific! Excellent, flavorful Mexican food. No generic slop here! Each plate is full of unique flavors...some hot & spicy, some not. Not your white table cloth kind of place...but the place you go with friends to enjoy good food & company!

“great local mexican place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2011

We stopped in on a whim. About 10 minutes drive outside Sonoma, in a residential, largely Latino area. A small, homey place, and the staff (owner's family) was extremely welcoming and friendly. Menu is interesting, and the food was really delicious. Great flavors, large portions. Not dirt cheap, but certainly not expensive compared to restaurants elsewhere. Would definitely go back for the food, and the nice local atmosphere.

“Great simple Mexican fare”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2011

We all really enjoyed the food served by a very nice waitress. Plastic or no table cloths on not so well cleaned picnic tables were the only drawback but wouldn't be enough to stop us from going again.
