“Upscale dining and great food”
Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

We were staying at the Lodge hotel next door and ate here on a whim after deciding we were way too relaxed to go to the town square. The interior is very nicely decorated but still casual enough that we didn't feel out of place in our tourist attire. We both started with the mussels which were huge and very well seasoned. I had the halibut with peas, heirloom tomatoes, and a lovely sauce. My husband had the lamb chops with quinoa and they were perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. We were too full for dessert but the did offer a good selection.
The service and food were top notch and well worth the price we paid.

Thank Lara M

“Great staff and food, well worth it, comfortable atmosphere while still fine dinning”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

We had planned on just dinner, but came back for breakfast as well. Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. We enjoyed the hanger steak and the pork chop with a lovely peach purée. The restaurant allows you to bring in your own wine if you like, and it is free corkage if you purchase your wine from the Cellar Door on site at the Lodge at Sonoma.
The breakfast buffet is very good as well as the ala carte menu, they even bring you a complimentary berry shake and small bran muffin to start.
We met the executive Chef Peter who is very passionate about his work and understands you need to be at a higher level of quality and service to keep your customers.
Overall, very good and would go back again. We still have to try lunch!

“Really good food, lacking in execution”
Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

Our food last evening was fabulous. Both salads were exceptional (stone fruit salad & tomato burata). The entrees were very good as well (duck & quinoa). We felt adventurous & @ our waiters suggestion we had the peach polenta for dessert. We were pleasantly surprised at the taste combinations that are too hard to describe, itt needs to be experienced. The downer for us was that about half way thru our meal, the kitchen fell apart for some reason and service became intolerably slow. So, the service and the louder atmosphere put a bit of a damper on our evening.

“Excellent food, wine and service”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

Our server recommended the duck, which I normally do not order. However, he made a convincing though non-pushy, case, and he was right, it was delicioust! I was so glad to be nudged outside my comfort zone. Our two young sons even tried the duck and they were pleasantly surprised too. A flight three tasting glasses of wine was recommended with the duck - also terrific. The kids menu offered generous portions of tasty food. Even though the restaurant seemed to cater more to couples and adults, no one made us feel awkward to bring our kids. The children's menu was no after thought. Love it and would return in a heartbeat.
