This peaceful retreat is a must stay!
After 5 days in San Diego and days planned in San Francisco this was the perfect break from the chaos of the city.
The setup is perfect to relax for the evening with some wine and cheeses. There are several areas set up to sit and relax, but we loved the corner nooks around the water and fire area, with just enough room for 2 to sit comfortably we reminisced and planned our days to come.
The rooms are very clean with thoughtful touches throughout, felt like you were staying with a thoughtful friend.
Breakfast was amazing, I'm still dreaming of the chocolate croissant!

Room Tip: We were in the Courtyard in front of one of the water features, the rooms are quiet. Loved that the...

Peaceful and wonderful place we discovered. Charming owners, so sweet and helpful. Great location and just one block from the beautiful Sonoma square. Great room with special attentions, loved the picnic basket for breakfest . We happely recommend the Cottage Inn and Spa and we will certainly come back! For the best experience, take the massages, incredible!

One small letdown: given the name of the hotel, we were expecting an outdoor spa, but there wasn't one. :(

The Cottage Inn & Spa in Sonoma, is a must place to stay. My sister and I were greeted by Laurie who gave us a wonderful hug and much Aloha! The Mission Suite just blew us away. Very well kept and spotless. Lovely music, I felt the calm and peace within me soon as I walked in. Lovely living room area, flowers, a full kitchen, soft lights above a king size bed, shower and spa, hair blower, amenities galore, beautiful white robes hanging and ready for use, a private door out into a meditation area surrounded by bamboo, another door leading out into a private patio for time to relax after touring the Valley of the Moon. In the morning, I heard a little noise at the front door, I opened it and found a lovely brown basket hanging ~ it felt warm and discovered they were fresh baked pastries, perfect to go with the orange juice, coffee, cereal and fruit ! they were deeelicious ! What a treat ! The Cottage Inn is in a perfect location within walking distance to shops and terrific restaurants, banks, shopping center, pharmacy, whole foods and others. Sonoma is the town for all wine tasting lovers. The wine tasting places are but steps away from each other AND a lovely walk from the Cottage Inn. The architectural design of the inn itself is beautiful ! To everyone from the east coast to the west coast, Hawaii and around the world, the Cottage Inn & Spa in Sonoma is the place to stay. The housekeeping is excellent and so is the staff. Mahalo Nui to Faye and staff for a wonderful and memorable time my sister and I spent there. Will definitely come back again. Aloha with much affection, Mary

Room Tip: Mission Suite I would recommend ... it's very quiet ~ beautiful room.

Such a lovely place. Sis and I felt at home there. Loved the décor. If I had more time, I would've used the patio or garden for meditation. Kitchen equipped with everything you would need to fix a meal, however, no time to do that. Special delivery of warm pastries (in basket hanging outside our unit) was a hit with us. Yummy, yummy. Did not need to go to a restaurant for breakfast... juice, coffee, tea, cereal, milk, water provided by our host. Walking distance to the town square.
This place is classy, warm and welcoming. Laurie was a sweet, pleasant, terrific greeter.
"Touch of Class"!

Room Tip: We were in a unit on the street side and it was fine.

We were travelling to Sonoma to taste some wine, and wanted somewhere comfortable within easy walking distance of the wineries located in the main town square.

We got all of that here, and more besides. The Cottage Inn and Spa is a lovely place to stay. It is run by warm, welcoming people who were able to make great recommendations of places to eat and drink. The room was clean, we slept well in the bed, we enjoyed the jacuzzi, and had two comfortable, shaded sunbeds on a private patio. In the evenings, the fountain in a central area outside the room was fun to sit in after a great day. In the morning, the breakfast of cereals and fresh pastries was just what we wanted.

The Cottage Inn and Spa helped us make the most of being in Sonoma - we would happily recommend it.

A quiet and peaceful, very private place to stay. So many little details add charm and an atmosphere for relaxation and privacy. The massage was the best experience I have ever had - and the location is perfect, just one block from the Sonoma square. There are no negatives... I have stayed twice now ~ for the positive energy, the relaxing and peaceful environment, romance, tranquility and a true vacation.

Room Tip: The Mission suite was amazing!!

This is the perfect place to stay when in Sonoma. The Cottage Inn and Spa is located on a quiet street just off the Town Square, and it was lovely to be able to stroll home after dinner and wine tasting. We stayed in the Mission Suite and we both loved the calm, the details, the jacuzzi, the lighting (fairy lights above the bed!), the kitchen (complete with picnic basket, coffee maker, a stove and a fridge with water, orange juice, jam and cream cheese for our breakfast of freshly baked goods that was delivered to our door in the morning). We had our own little patio with sunbeds for relaxing in the shade and a front porch with a view to the street.

The staff is so sweet and helpful and the whole atmosphere of this place is calm, happy and relaxing. We didn’t have time to try the spa, but we did wind down after a warm day with a glass of wine by the firelit fountain before bed. Very special and thoroughly recommended!
