Description: Fresh, Inventive Mediterranean and Iberian Cuisine in the heart of the Sonoma Valley Wine Country. Seafood and Portuguese Cuisine are our specialties. We offer a unique variety of fresh local and imported seafood specials daily including whole fish. The seafood selections on our menu are complimented by a variety of meat dishes ranging from the popular Pork Tenderloin stuffed with almonds, olives and figs to the, hard to find, Tripe Porto Style. Many of these dishes come steaming hot out of the wood-burning oven and fill the dining room with the exotic aromas of true Mediterranean cuisine. The menu reflects the commitment of Chef and Owner Manuel Azevedo to creating the unique culinary delights of his native Portugal and its neighbors. LaSalette Restaurant is proudly one of Zagat Surveys top rated restaurants in Sonoma. See our web site for the complete menu and a look inside our dining room, which features an open kitchen and decor that sends you back in time to old Lisbon.

The food was very good. The specials in particular were terrific. THis is a place that wont give you a lot of options, but everything they do, they do well.

Recommended by locals so we took them up on it. There were 6 of us enjoying a fabulous weekend in Sonoma. We waited a few minutes but it was worth it as we had a wonderful time. We were especially intrigued to try a Portuguese Restaruant and weren't disappointed. We had several of the seafood dishes - awesome. We also sampled several desserts and found them to be unique and fabulous. Would highly recommend!

All in all a good meal. The choices were varied and unique and the atmosphere warm and comfortable. It's a little tricky to find.

The restaurant is difficult to find, being hidden up an alley. Once found the secluded location makes it potentially nice. Alfresco and indoor dining: we at out in the glorious sunshine and had high hopes. The menu was interesting Portugese style dishes. I always like Sweetbreads, but why a syrupy sweet glaze? Totally unnecessary and inappropriate. The main complaint is the oily food. In Portugal this seems acceptable, but there they use good olive oil. The olive oil here seemed like cooking oil. The dishes were also poorly seasoned and not well presented. Too much to expect good Portugese wines in a California wine-growing region, but the wines we tried were rather body less. So ambience fine; service OK; food and wine (why one goes to a restaurant) poor

It was busy and we were walkins. Sat at the bar in front of roaring open ove and watched/talked with cooks. We had seafood with exotic sauces and a delicious Portuguese wine. We would go there first if we return to Sonoma.
