Overall, the meal here was solid. I had grass fed filet mignon. Others in party had prime rib. Overall the meat cuts were amazing and prepared very nicely. Staff was attentive and polite. Only downer were some of the side dishes which were uninspiring (aka cream corn special was pretty weak). Wine list was a little light for steak friendly wines and I was stunned at the absence of Sonoma wines. Almost everything was Napa driven; I expected some Sonoma cabs as headliners. I would certainly go back as it seems to be the best steak in the area.

The first thing you'll notice when you walk into this restaurant is the equestrian decoration, which gives a warm and edgy feel. My husband and I visited during our honeymoon and were generously welcomed with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine from our hostess, when she learned of what brought us to Sonoma. We both ordered the filet mingon steak, which came with fresh local veg and mash. They were cooked perfectly and generous portions. While we wanted to try dessert we simply didn't have room left.
Our server was friendly and attentive and we had a wonderful evening here.

The clam chowder is excellent, the tuna and other white fish was a little dry. The service was always very good

Food was good but did not really cater well for Vegatarians. It was a bit expensive but lovely for a special occasion. Good service and nice little sweets on way out.

Fun decor with real boots and saddles, nice ambience. We asked for and sat in the barn, which is light and airy, our overall experience was excellent. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and started with martinis for the guys and champagne for the ladies. We skipped appetizers, the bread and herb butter were enough for us (and we wanted dessert!) and dove right into steaks and lamb. We all got the meal deal, so to speak, perfectly done veggies, a cabernet sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and enjoyed it all.

We ended with cappuccinos, a Creme Brulee and a piece of the chocolate cake. The birthday boy barely shared the brulee, and he normally is not a dessert person. The chocolate cake was really good. And they rang us a cab for a quick ride back to the hotel.

Good for special occasions and both the lamb and steak(s) were nearly perfect. The service was stellar, no rushing and perfectly timed.
