My husband and I enjoyed Sunday brunch here during our vacation to California. We actually had tried to get in for dinner reservations the night before but it was booked solid so we figured brunch would be the second best option. We arrived around 11:30 AM and were promptly seated on the back patio. The menu options were limited but unique. My husband ordered a bloody mary and a duck dish and I ordered a fig liquer infused cocktail (similar to a mimosa) along with a pork belly sandwich and frites. We both thoroughly enjoyed our selections. We had only wished we were staying another day so we could try their dinner menu.

The fig and girl is a delightful find in Sonoma's wine country. The menu features seasonal ingredients from the region promoting farm to table ethics. There are many delicious reasons to enjoy a meal here beginning with their excellent charcuterie and fromage selection from Northern California and France. Laura Chenel Chèvre has a creamy delicate flavor and we enjoyed this literally sprinkled throughout our fig & arugula salad as a "Starter" which we shared. The baby arugula was super fresh and complimented with toasted pecans, dried figs and Mano Formate pancetta tossed with a fig vinaigrette. The savory flavor of the chèvre made the salad "sing" and quite frankly this large Starter was a perfect lunch by two. By the time our Petit Plats of quiche lorraine arrived, our belly's were already sated! The quiche lorraine arrived with matchstick frites and a salad with mixed baby greens - yumo! Already full from our fig and arugula salad, we gamely proceeded to enjoy one of the best meals of our three week road trip - the quiche lorraine was light and airy, the matchstick frites perfect in texture and flavor and the salad was as creatively prepared as their signature fig and arugula salad. I was quite bummed not to be able to finish this wonderful meal because of their generous portions. We are making The Girl and the Fig a "destination" on our next visit to Sonoma to experience some of their lovely bistro entrees for dinner and do an encore of the quiche lorraine. There is an antique bar with French aperitifs (figs are the star), unique and more traditional cocktails, and an award-winning Rhone-Alone wine list. There is also a very nice selection of non-alcoholic libations (recommend Virgin Pimm's that has ginger ale, pomegranate molasses, mint and cucumber). While waiting for our meal, be sure to browse their store to find a fun array of "fig items" ranging chutneys to cakes, to soaps/lotions to art work. By the way, the staff knows their menu and is very friendly from the hostess to our waitress. You will love The Girl and the Fig. Make sure to make reservations!

We went to "Girl and the Fig" on Thanksgiving weekend. We've heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and was not disappointed.

We started with the mussels and it was delicious. I had a half-order of the famous duck confit and it was equally yummy! Crispy on the outside and very moist on the inside. Quite delicious.

The only slightly disappointing item was dessert. I had the fig cake. It was still yummy, but I was expecting something a bit more moist.

Overall, a great evening. We will return to "The Fig" everytime we're in Sonoma.

This restaurant is one of the reasons you go to the wine country. Locally owned by creative chef, who uses only the freshest ingredients. The salads, duck, soups, and even the hamburger for lunch are unique. Of course, fine selection of local wines. Even "The Bachelor" took his lady there! On warm nights, select a table in the garden.

My wife and I went for an early Sunday dinner. We had heard great things about the duck confit. My wife had the duck and I had the lamb. Both were outstanding. Our waitress Betty was very helpful and delightful. All in all it was a wonderful evening.
