When we walked in, there were 3 people behind the counter and we were the only customers. We selected a pre-packaged box of chocolates and walked up to the counter. Two of the three people behind the counter looked at us making eye contact. None of them said a word and all went into the back. One of them made eye contact again while in the back doorway. We waited about 2 minutes before someone came out. It was enough time that we considered just leaving the chocolate and walking away. When someone did come out, she was upset and we felt like we were interrupting something. Some other people had come into the store at this point so she called into the back for help. Someone from the back yelled she was off. The girl helping us said "No, you're not" loud enough for us to hear but probably not the girl in the back. As we were being rung up, a guy came out of the back putting his shirt (uniform) on. I don't want to ever see a bare chested kid where food is handled. My husband pointed out these were all probably teenagers and this is a summer job. Still not acceptable. We'll never return. BTW, the chocolate was good but nothing special.
