“Great Italian on an atmospheric patio”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

Busy, bustling restaurant with a fantastic patio that offered great atmosphere. Simple but tasty (and real) Italian food. Very good value for money. Great server and the after dinner port (free of charge) was a really nice touch and a nice way to end the evening.

“The Owner is in the House!”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

We decided to take my Brother-in-law out for his 65th birthday (sorry to give it away Glen!) and he choose this Italian eatery as it was nearby where we were vacationing. Since it was an above average warm October evening, we thought we would enjoy supper on the patio. What a great choice! Authentic vines were overhead in the trellis, and a fountain with Italian motifs put us right back in Italy. The menu was in Italian (with English subtitles) and the owner came around to say "Hi" and was glad to mention the influence his mother and family back in Tuscany had on the development of the various dishes. I enjoyed the Tortelli Alla Lucchese and the owner had to mention (as he breezed by during supper) that his father had made that dish a thousand times for them growing up!! It was different and very delicious, with the sauce surprising me several times as the Tortelli disappeared!!
Everyone was very complimentary on their dishes, my other quests having ordered Pomodor with which they were very familiar and gave it an 8/10!!
Our server was very helpful in allowing us to serve birthday cup cakes that we had brought, and setting up the "surprise" birthday greeting.

I loved the ambiance, the fact that the owner was serving, busing dishes and chatting it up with the guests. Food was delicious and the prices quite reasonable. I rate it "Excellent" overall.

“Wonderful food, 5 star service!”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

We made reservations in advance and were seated immediately. The owner appeared as though he was waiting on every table in the patio area. He looked busy, but not too busy to stop and chat with us. We were indecisive regarding our drinks, so we asked him to pair wine for us after we had ordered our food. He brought a rose with our appetizer and a different red each with our meals, and both were perfect. Afterwards we were undecided on dessert and asked for his recommendation between 3 we liked. He suggested a small slice of each, which wasn't on the menu! Then he gave us and the couples around us a small complimentary champagne glass of limoncello that he said was homemade by a member of his family. In a nutshell, it was lovely food, but his special attention to each table really went above and beyond, and his service was the best of any of the Napa or Sonoma restaurants we visited in our 5 day trip.

“Excellent Gnocchi”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

My girlfriend and I were greeted by a very friendly waiter than provided excellent service. The wine pours were healthy and the gnocchi was fantastic. My girlfriend's lasagna was also executed perfectly. We sat in the courtyard under heatlamps and had a very romantic and tasty meal

“A very enjoyable Italian meal”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

We only had one night in Sonoma and looked at the menus for a lot of the top restaurants before choosing Della Santina's for its' innovative menu. It was a Tuesday evening and we did not book and we were lucky to get in as the restaurant was full by 7 pm.
We had a little wait before we were attended to but service after that was professional yet friendly although the waiter mixed up(misheard?) my wife's order and we ended up not eating our main courses at the same time as her corrected order was prepared. However, the salads and entrees were very good - and my wife's duck risotto was enormous, but very tasty.
Wine by the glass was a reasonable price with a generous amount provided.
Overall, apart from a little hiccough, this was an enjoyable dining experience and we would recommend the restaurant.
