I have visited at least half of the California missions, so I was anxious to see the museum at Cline Cellars. The models are very good, not your typical fourth grader models but something a dedicated model maker would do. There is a little writeup on each mission, but overall there isn't much there. Good if you have a California fourth grader and want to get a good overview of all of the missions, but just didn't have much information. I could read more on my phone by going to wikipedia. On the plus side, the Sauvignon Blanc I tasted at Cline was excellent.

Cline and nearby Jacuzzi Wineries have both done a great job of incorporating history with their wineries. The Mission Museum is a perfect example. It's a quick visit, but it's worth your time - -and then walk the grounds and see the birds, the lake etc. Across the road at Jacuzzi, there are great views and the winery building has a great story too (just ask).

The museum is very interesting with beautiful models of each of the California missions and a brief history of each. Cline itself is a lovely farm which is pleasant to stroll around. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

I enjoy coming here and love to send people here that are visiting with children. Nancy that works here is amazing and super nice. The displays are very cool and the two donkeys: pudding and fancy are a real kick. The grounds are also beautiful. This is a real "gem" of a place and should not be missed when you are in the area.

The Cline Missions Museum is an oasis of calm in contrast to the busy wine tasting room. Seeing replicas of California's first buildings brings history to life and it's easy to imagine what life must have been like 300 years ago. The building was specifically designed to display the models. Also on view are fascinating artifacts that were unearthed when the ground was dug up to plant the vines. Open 364 days a year (closed Christmas) from 10 AM to 4 PM and is free (donations gratefully accepted).
