We recently spent 4 days and 3 nights at the Inn at Sonoma and highly recommend it for your home base in Wine Country. The staff was warm, welcoming and so helpful when it came to choosing which wineries to include on our visit. They gave us several coupons for tastings...all you have to do is ask! As others have stated, there is an excellent breakfast buffet included each day (loved the egg dishes) as well as a wine and cheese reception each evening. These are nice ways to begin and end each day! Our room was not huge but was very comfortable and nicely decorated. It included a fireplace and balcony although the view wasn't great. We even enjoyed the hot tub a couple of times upon our return to the inn following our wine tastings. It was very relaxing, and not too many people took advantage of it so we had it to ourselves. The location is excellent...easy walking distance (just a couple of blocks) to the plaza and many wonderful restaurants! We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Sonoma!

The Inn at Sonoma was a wonderful hotel. I'm not much of a B&B type, so this inn was a great mix of private and comfortable (like a hotel), but cozy and personal with great breakfast and afternoon snacks like a B&B. The place was excellently appointed, very comfortable, quiet and close to the oldtown restaurants and action. The breakfast was way beyond expectation with gourmet sauces over french toast, quiches, fruit, pastries, juices, coffee, and more. The afternoon offered wine, cheese, toasts, veggies/dips, and tea time with breads, muffins, tea and such--very lovely. What a value for this type of experience. I would recommend Four Sisters Inns (several across California) for this type of service, style and comfort consistently. Wish we had booked them on every leg of our trip!!

We were fortunate to take advantage of a reduced pricing special in booking our rooms and the links on the hotel's website led us to a delightful wine tour of Sonoma Valley.
We arrived just after the complimentary wine "hour" ended but they extended the wine and cheese for us... just another example of their great service.
The rooms were nicely furnished - they were both on the first floor and had private patios and fireplaces. There are a variety of DVDs at the Reception Desk for viewing on the televisions in each room. The bathrooms were modern and nicely stocked with spa type toiletries.
The staff at the Reception was quite professional and gave us lots of information on local restaurants. There was a complimentary computer at the Front Desk for the guests' use.
Also included with the room is breakfast - what a treat! Our first morning there we enjoyed blueberry pancakes and the second day there were two kinds of quiche. This was in addition to pastry, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea and juices.
If ever in Sonoma, I would stay here again and will look for other Four Sisters properties when I travel on the West Coast.
The hotel had a hot tub upstairs, but I never saw the area. The exterior was well maintained and inviting.

This hotel was quite sweet. Sweet rooms with lots of teddies everywhere (which you could buy!) and quiet and relaxing. However it was the most expensive hotel on our 2 week tour of the US. This could have been because we were staying in Sonoma on a Saturday night but it did seem very expensive for what was a good but not remarkable hotel. The room was nice - not huge but with a terrace area to sit (although if you are at the back of the hotel this is no view - just a view of a fence). Nice bed linens but side lights were very bright and not many channels on the TV. Bathroom was OK but nothing special - very average. What was a nice touch was that breakfast was included and there was plenty. Freshly cooked and laid out buffet style which meant you could have as much as you wanted. There were cold drinks available all night and cookies. Coffee in the room too. All these touches were very nice and the service was good. Carparking was available - an underground carpark or some parking outside the front of the hotel and free. The hotel isn't on the main Sonoma Square which might have been nice although could have been more noisy. It is just off the Square but only a few minutes walk. Sonoma itself is a nice little place although not as picturesque as I was hoping for as it is a wine region that is world famous. However some nice restaurants and bars there to go to in the evening. One night was enough and hotel was good but next time I might have picked one on the main square and one which was less expensive!

We were recommended the Innat Sonoma by a most pleasant lady at the touris information centre in the main square at Sonoma. She was absolutely correct in saying it was claen and friendly place to stay. Our room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was od a good standard.

My husband and I just stayed at this Inn, we had a 2nd floor king room which was on the street side. Our first impression was not good since the receptionist kept answering the phone and discussing available rooms while we were waiting to check in. I heard her mention the #1 rating on tripadvisor a couple of times. Our second impression was poor also - the rooms are really small! The tv is also very small and old fashioned and our bed was quite uncomfortable to us, we did not sleep well. The bathroom is nicely tiled, but the sink didn't drain and there is even a note on the mirror that if it clogs, you should use less water. I think they need to install flow restrictors so this is not such an unpleasant and persistent problem. The "rooftop" hot tub was actually on the 2nd floor off the breezeway between rooms. The chlorine smell that emanated from it was powerful and I had no desire to go in, also there was a sign that you couldn't use the jets after 9pm. I have stayed in many Sonoma hotels and for this price and with these reviews, I expected so much more! On the plus side, the location close to town is great. The wine tasting was nice and the breakfast food is good, both are served in the cozy lobby/dining area.
