“Wonderful location & inn!”
Reviewed November 27, 2007

The Inn at Sonoma was exactly what we were looking for. It is just a short walk to the quaint square with plenty of restaurants and shops. Our room was very cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the fire place! The breakfast each morning was one of the best breakfasts that I have ever had! I loved the goat cheese quiche.

The decor was nice and modern. We especially loved looking at the different artwork in our room and throughout the Inn. We also were able to experience the hot tub, which was perfect after a long bike ride.

Sonoma is a great location to experience the wine country and we couldn't believe what a deal we got on the room!

  • Liked — Comfortable bed, quiet location and breakfast!
  • Disliked — I wish that breakfast had been served earlier, but then again I was on east coast time.

This is an absolutely lovely Inn located a block from the Sonoma Plaza, rather hidden back from the street making it very private and quiet. They have 18 rooms each with a gas fireplace and a spacious bathrom, all done in French country colors and decor. The rooms range from a "quaint queen" to larger king rooms with balconies. The Inn is about five years old and is completely accessible, with ample parking for guests and visitors.

The Inn prepares a hearty breakfast each day that includes egg souffle, blueberry pancakes, breads and muffins, toast and bagels, assorted fruit, coffee, tea and juice. They also have a wine and cheese hour in the late afternoon for guests to relax after a day in the country and to mix and mingle with fellow guests over a glass of local wine. The Inn attracts guests from all over the world, making for interesting conversation and exchange of Wine Country experiences!

Far and away, they offer the most wonderful hospitality, with a staff that caters to your every need. They were so gracious and helpful in making dinner reservations, arranging for wine tours, making personal recommendations as to where to go and what to do, and just making sure you were comfortable and enjoying your time in the Wine Country. They even made arrangements for me to spend a day in San Francisco before flying home.

I cannot say enough about this charming little Inn--the location, the accomodations, and the proprietors and staff are all top notch! I cannot wait to go back!

We had a wonderful time, and I hope to plan a trip that will involve another Four Sisters Inn. The fireplace, hot breakfast, mid-afternoon hors d'oeuvres, cookies, clean rooms, and friendly staff made our stay particularly enjoyable. The granite countertops, tile floor/shower, and cozy bed were nice amenities. Also, the proximity to restaurants and wineries made it accessible by foot or car. It was more private than a B&B but had all the charm and coziness of one. I HIGHLY recommend this Inn.

We stayed here Sept. 9 to 13 for an anniversary getaway. The Inn is terrific as is the staff. We will definitely be back when we return to Sonoma.

We stayed here for a few nights to see the wine country as part of a round California trip after reading the reviews on tripadvisor.

The room was very nice, the bed comfortable with lovely linens and the obligatory teddy bear. It also had a nice fireplace which would be great in winter. We were a bit disappointed that our room had no refigerator in it for our wine.

The breakfasts were delicious and the kitchen staff, who were also the cleaners, worked tirelessly to ensure the buffet was well stocked. The frittatas were beautiful!

Free soft drinks and coffee were available all day in the reception area. Complimentary cheese and wine were also available here between 4.30pm and 6pm each day. On one occassion, however, the wine was supplied and served by a local winery and certain guests distracted the guy while their companions drank all the wine, not leaving any for other guests!

The weather was very hot while we were there and so it would have been good if the hot tub had been a cold tub!

The inn is within easy walking distance of the town square, and there is also one winery within walking distance. The town appeared to be quiet when we were there and the only place with any atmosphere at night was the Swiss Hotel. We ate at The Girl &The Fig, but were not impressed.

Overall the Inn was very good and our only complaint was on checking out we were kept waiting for ages whilst another couple were checking in (at 10am!) No apology was made to us for this.

You should also be aware that all staff go home for 9pm which some people may find uncomfortable.

We recently stayed at the Inn at Sonoma for our Anniversary trip to Wine Country. We had a great time and would stay at the Inn at Sonoma or another Four Sisters Inn again!!
The rooms were slightly smaller than your average hotel room - but had everything we needed - queen sized bed, wine glasses, tv/dvd, bathroom goodies (salts, lotion, etc). Our room faced the back, which does overlook a day care center - but we didnt spend alot of time in our room during the day. One morning we did sit on the balcony, but since I work in a school, i enjoyed hearing the kids playing and learning!!
The breakfasts here were phenomenal! I bought their cookbook in hopes of replicating some of the fritatta's my husband loved so much (to no success of course!). The afternoon "tea" (wine and goodies, was a nice touch - we got to chat with some of the other guests and find out about good dinner places. The cookies were really yummy - i couldnt pass by without grabbing one (or two).
I was really pleased that they had a computer for guests to use - it helped us check in and print out our boarding passes for our flight.

We decided to stay at the Sonoma Inn based on all the great trip advisor reviews. Our first imppresion was good and the desk staff were quite pleasant. The room was pleasant enough but our location in front was quite noisy and ended up not being very restful. Our patio had a cigar left outside that was not cleanned up for the two days we were there. These were all and all not huge issues but when we went to check out it took us over a half an hour to get our overcharge straighten out and left us with a very bad taste.
