“A wonderful Non mass produced hotel”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

This was a very welcome change from the plastic mass made hotels you find in America

Easy to find and in a nice quite location but just a 10 minutes drive to the heart of Sonoma and the historic district.

Room was large, clean and tidy no complaints and can highly recommend this hotel for the price when booked through hotels.com

Lady on reception was very helpful and friendly.

Hotel has a restaurant next door but this was not open on a Monday so did not eat here but drove in to the historic district

As another reviewer said it is a very cozy hotel.

Really liked this hotel--while there were some grody parts of the room and parking lot, they get points for style and accessibility.

In comparing prices from their website to the ones on travelocity or the like, I saw that there was a $60 difference per night. We called the hotel directly and they offered to match the third party site's prices ($104, in all, for the Sunday of president's day weekend)--works for our wallet, and our money goes directly to the hotel!

We arrived around 9:30 pm, and by that time there was no attendant in the main office (kinda creepy!). We had to call the number listed on the front door to get access to our key.

The hotel itself is quaint and has a Spanish-y feel to it. Room 15's deco and shared balcony (facing the parking lot, lol) was great, but they do need to fix up the bathroom floors and caulking.

I'd stay here again! It's in our price range and not too shabby.

It's like a little touch of home on the road. Comfortable, clean, cozy. I loved the little balcony with its fountain. This was a great value and a very pleasant place to stay. Would definitely recommend it to others and will stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: I loved my downstairs room with a little porch and fountain.

My husband and I stayed here during our holiday road trip. We chose this hotel for its price and its pet policy (we have a dog named Fancy). It's set up like a motel, I wasn't expecting that, and it's right on a busy road in a not-so-great looking area.

Pros:
-Not too expensive
-Allowed you to pick a "bundle" and get a gift certificate for a restaurant (we chose Glen Ellen Inn)
-Rooms were clean
-Small fridge in the room to chill white wine or keep leftovers
-Small patio you can let your dog out to get fresh air (not use the restroom)
-Cable! It was cold out after sundown so we watched Bar Rescue on Spike =)

Cons:
-Pretty far from the winery's
-Patio right next to busy road - nothing relaxing about that
-Looks to be located in a not great area of town
-No breakfast offered

Overall, I wouldn't stay here again. Next time we visit Sonoma, we'll pay more to have our dog with us at a nicer place, closer to the vineyards - or we'll leave Fancy with a friend and stay at the Glen Ellen Inn Secret Cottages (which is where we really wanted to stay - check them out!)

This is a well-designed, clean, and efficient establishment. It's off the big square, and we think that's a good thing, as it's so commercial on the square. Near Sonoma Mission Inn.

There's a road which, while quiet at night, was a little busy during the day. Not a problem; just an observation.

Room Tip: Go for the king sized bed with the patio. Definitely worth the few extra dollars.

We paid $80 for a room with a king size bed. It had a private patio with two chairs, flowers and and fountain. Large room with cute retro decor. Clean. Liked it. Bathroom was great. Keurig coffee maker and refrigerator. Tons of water pressure. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows. We will definitely stay here again. After a day of wine tasting, we went to the town square. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop. Sorry that the other reviewer didn't have the same experience, but Sonoma is known for food and wine! Not a place I would take my kids on vacation. If you have kids, stay in Santa Rosa and go to the Charles Schultz museum.

The review on line doesn't match what we have seen and experienced. It said most of the rooms have a private balcony, only 2 do and they share the same one. The ice machine doesn't work. The reviews of a big truck either picking up or dropping off something either in the parking lot or real close is true. The pictures match the decor and the headboard is really neat. The other issue we had is the town close down at 5. So unless you are big drinkers there is NOTHING to do. We asked our waitress what is there to do in town and she said "Sonoma is known as "Stonoma" there is nothing to do at night unless you like drinking and forget it if you have kids. During the day there are parks to take the kids". So for us it was a mid point between Santa Rosa and San Francisco at a good rate. There is a rate card in the room that says the room goes for $79-$250. Not worth the $250...ever. Not worth the $79 but we got a lesser rate then that so it works.
