“Ultra Clean & Very Cozy!!!!!”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

My Wife and I stayed here for my Birthday weekend and was just perfect!! Check in was smooth and a bottle of Champagne chilling on ice was waiting for us!!! The Room was like a large studio condo with fire place, large bath tub, amazingly comfy bed, back patio, porch, living room and was extremely clean!!! Even though the parking lot was full, our stay was very quiet and Romantic!!!

The pool has gorgeous cabanas around the pool, water coolers, fire pits and a bar walking distance to the pool. They have a trolley that takes you up the 5 min. drive to down town Sonoma and will pick you up as well.

This place was beautiful and was just perfect for our Sonoma, Santa Rosa and Napa wine tasting weekend.

I would stay here again and have recommended it to my friends and co-workers.

We stayed at The Lodge at Sonoma for 2 nights during Spring Break. The cottage feel was very nice & romantic. It was very quiet & charming. Downtown Sonoma was so cute & small town. We loved walking around & wine tasting. This is a great location for staying in Sonoma & we traveled to Napa for wine tours for a day. Very close & less expensive than Napa. The cottages are a little outdated, but we are more modern when it comes to hotels!

Thank you for your feedback. The short distance to downtown and the small town feel of Sonoma make it the perfect destination!!! There are so many things to see and do, and our highly skilled Navigators know all of the awesome local destinations to send our guests. We recently remodeled our Lobby and are currently working on plans to refresh the guest rooms in 2014. We have some other plans in the works as well to keep continually improving the resort for our guests. Please come back and visit us again soon!

Staff was very friendly and the resort was clean and comfortable. May be time to start updating the rooms as they felt a little outdated. The onsite restaurant was excellent with a variety of options. No late night food services offered. Definitely would stay there again.

Room Tip: The lodges are more spacious and private with fireplaces.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We completed a full Lobby renovation last March and have plans for a rooms refresh in 2014, along with several other property enhancements. The Executive Chef and I also met recently to discuss late night dining options for our guests, especially after 10:00 P.M. when the restaurants in the local area close. On your next visit, be sure to try our award winning Raindance Spa and Carneros Bistro. We have two incredible chefs and the food and service scores for our restaurant and Bean & Bottle are off the charts. Thank you for your business and we look forward to seeing you again in the very near future!

We stayed in a cottage between Christmas and New Years and were very happy with the accomodations. We enjoyed the SPA and the dining at the Carneros Bistro on premises. Our stay included breakfast which was fabulous, and the dinners we had at the Bistro were top notch! The staff at this resort, including the Concierge, Front Desk, SPA and Restaurant were absolutely great. I would highly recommend the resort and restaurant, and have done so to friends who are going out there in May. Good location. Would go back in a second.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the first floor room in a cottage (nice gas fireplace). Four rooms to a cottage, two up a...

We stayed here for 3 nights with a Sip and Savor package. So for $390 a night (in March) we had a "cottage room, free breakfast, complimentary wine tasting and truffles at turn down." First thing: I have stayed here many times; all the rooms are the same whether you are in a cottage, in the main building, or in the "outpost" (a secondary building across the parking lot). The configurations may be slightly different but every room has a fireplace and the separate bathtub/shower arrangement. I am an elite gold member of Marriott so I stay at Marriott properties whenever I can.

The free breakfast with the package was a good deal because it can cost around $50 for a party of 2. I asked the concierge about the complimentary wine tasting that came with our package and she said that it was basically the wine tasting that all guests were entitled to. The truffles at turn down turned out to be one of the most awkward situations; it was almost as if nobody had gotten the word that we were on a package deal and entitled to them. The lady came for turn down service and basically walked in (although my husband was standing at the door) and said she was giving us the truffles because a VIP did not want them. I didn't know if she was looking for a tip but she kept talking non-stop which was pretty strange. I talked to the hotel manager the next morning just to tell her about the awkward interaction and that she should at least let the employees know when there were people staying with package deals in order to alleviate any strange interactions, etc. Well, that evening, the turn down person had no idea that we were supposed to get the truffles. I know it sounds like I am overreacting, but details are everything....

I did use the spa for a pedicure, which was amazing (as it always is). The hotel grounds were in great shape. The hotel was clean and well maintained. I like this hotel and would stay here again but not with a package deal and not in a cottage.

Room Tip: If you reserve a cottage, request one that faces the gardens/pool area so you don't wind up faci...

Thank you for your feedback. I was disappointed to hear that the package you purchased was not executed properly. You are right that our success is truly in the details, and without it, we cannot deliver a flawless experience. I will meet with our team to streamline the process with packages ASAP so that we can prevent future occurrences. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We always use it to get better and to deliver a better quality product for our guests. Thank you also for being a Gold Elite Member with Marriott. Your loyalty is very much appreciated. We stayed here for one night on March 11. They upgraded us to a cottage. The cottage and the grounds were very nice. We enjoyed th pool area. We booked a AAA rate that included breakfast (it would have been a pricey $30+ without this rate). Enjoyed the restaurant, bar and overall was a very nice stay. It is too far to walk to the plaza, although we did walk to dinner.

Room Tip: We were upstairs in cottage 4 and it was a quiet location.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! The cottage rooms and grounds are truly beautiful and I am glad that you had the chance to enjoy them. Be sure to come back in a month or two when all of the 800 rose bushes on property are in bloom. It is absolutely gorgeous! Raindance Spa and the complimetary wine tasting that happens daily in Bean & Bottle are two additional things to add to your itinerary as well. Thank you for your business and we hope to see you again soon!

The hotel and the cottages are gorgeous. The pool and spa are both excellent however the people made all that was good even better.

Cynthia our concierge took excellent care of us from before our trip even started. Booking tours and restaurants for a large group like ours in Sonoma can prove a challenge however she took on the task and did an excellent job.

The staff at the bar and restaurant were spot on for the time spent in both locations.

The cottage rooms are huge (could use a little more seating), comfortable however the cottages towards the back are a trek if anyone in your group is in the lodge.

We did have a few HVAC issues in two rooms and had to move a couple to the main lodge.

Overall excellent place!

Great job!
