“Nice stay...what was of it!”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Loved this place and was due to stay longer but had to cut our trip short. The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom was spacious. Love the location of this hotel and plan on coming back again when we can stay longer. Great customer service from the staff also. Just overall a very nice place to go when in the wine country of Sonoma.

The hotel is lovely, the staff is fabulous - we very much enjoyed our stay. We had a room near the spa - lovely with a little fireplace in our room. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant daily - wine tasting in the bar area was fun too!
Just a great overall getaway.

Room Tip: The whole property looked great.

Thank you for the great response! During your next stay with us, definitely check out Raindance Spa, which is one of the higher rated Mainland Spas in Conde Nast Traveler. The compliementary Wine Tasting each day at 4:30 P.M. in Bean and Bottle is a huge hit as well. Happy Holidays!!

We started out a little rough, but fabulous customer service came to the rescue! I had booked the room using Destination Points for one night and cash for the others....made a point to verify with Marriott that the two different reservations were linked together and we wouldn't have to change rooms mid-stay. Didn't happen...they were completely booked and couldn't get us in to the cottage room we'd reserved. who knows... But anyway, Tom got us into the cottage room the second night and were set for the rest of the week. -moved our bags for us, sent some wine and also got us breakfast....nice touch. The hotel room was very nice, just not what we reserved. The Cottage room was even better...had more room and a nice fireplace. The Carneros restaurant, on site, served a nice breakfast spread until 11am everyday and dinner was delicious as well. Make reservations, though...it fills up fast in the evenings.
Centrally located, a great staff and a restfull night's sleep....what more can you ask for??

Room Tip: I would pay the extra and get a cottage room, they are very quaint and cozy!

We appreciate your candid feedback and are equally glad that you had a great stay, even though it got off to a bit of a bumpy start. We recognized Tom at a recent staff meeting for going above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. We are very fortuante to have staff like Tom working at the Lodge at Sonoma. We hope to see you again in the very near future and Happy Holidays!

I've stayed at this hotel a few times and each time it is great. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff is really friendly. There is a spa, I have never had the chance to utilize the services but it looks amazing! The outdoor pool and spa are great, and there are always plenty of loungers and towels for use. The hotel bar and restaurant are great as well. The in room breakfast is just ok... it is breakfast, nothing to go crazy about. Usually we stay in a villa but this trip we booked a regular king room and we were very pleased. The room had a nice entry way with a large bathroom with large tub and separate shower and toilet room from the vanity area. The bed is comfy and the fireplace adds a nice touch. The only down side would be the walkway just outside the door. The ground floors have their own patio with seating area and there is a walkway alongside the parking area- if you are on your patio and people walk by, they are pretty much on your patio with you.... just something to note if you like to be secluded. All in all this is a great place to stay and well worth the price.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the parking area or on a higher floor if you prefer a lot of privacy

Thank you for the great feedback! We have plans for the future to make the patios on the ground level rooms a little more private. The next time you visit, be sure to visit the Spa. They are highly rated in Conde Nast Traveler and do an amazing job. Happy Holidays!

The hotel is clean with friendly and professional service. The pool area is good for a family or for love birds. The location is central for Sonoma wine tasting. My family stayed here for my sister's wedding. I would return hands down.

Room Tip: Rooms facing away from the main road are quieter.

As part of Marriots top tier "renaissance" properties it's disappointing. The grounds, lobby and bar are very nice. The cottages are very average. The bedding is way below par, old lumpy duvets, saggy pillows, creaky beds. Sofa bed very cheap with thin mattress. HVAC is very loud and rattles. For the price it's a bad deal. The location is okay, long walk to anything (20+ mins). There is a hotel shuttle. As usual bottled water is priced like its gold (drives me nuts at every hotel) - would it really kill profits to put a couple of cold waters in the fridge complimentary when your paying $300 a night?

Thank you for your feedback. We are currently working on a bedding package that is much more luxurious. Unfortuantely, we replaced all of the mattresses in the guest rooms last year, but have received mixed reviews on their level of comfort. The new bedding product will have more pillows, a nicer duvet, and higher thread count sheets. We hope that you will have the opportunity to stay with us again in the very near future!

The hotel is lovely and in a good location. The only downside was that our showered leaked and everyday we had a wet floor. Other than that it is quiet, clean and staff is very helpful. Short distance from main plaza in sonoma which has great shops and lots of dining options.

Room Tip: Choose a cottage. Great size

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. Your feedback is valuable to us and allows us to make continuous improvements for our guests. We have identified a repair for the handful of rooms that have leaky showers, which is almost completed. Thanks you again for your feedback and Happy Holidays!
