This was our second stay at MacArthur Place. The staff was excellent, always asking how they could assist or make the experience better. The location provides a quick walk to the town square, or a short drive into Napa. We ate at the onsite steakhouse and the food and service was outstanding. Macarthur Place is our favorite place to stay and relax in wine country!

Room tip: Book a suite for the best experience

My husband had planned this trip as a surprise for my 60th birthday, and worked extensively through the concierge "Nancy." I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived to meet Nancy and see this wonderful hotel. The person at the front desk was named "Bucky" and she was just as helpful, giving us as much information as we could handle. Making dinner reservations whenever we needed... She gave us tips on different wineries to go to, and ones maybe not to visit... She was even willing to help with our cars navigation...I cannot tell you or say enough about the women in this hotels front desk, they were absolutely the best. Anything you need they will try to help get, and I am serious about that.... We were treated like royalty. We had a "Garden Spa Suite" which was superb, with a hot outdoor hot-tub, outdoor shower (which was really nice) a sitting area, a fire place a large bathroom, double sink, shower, jetted tub. Large king bed (very comfortable). The rooms are kept very clean daily, no complaints at all... They call this a 4 star hotel but it seems like a little village of separate cottages. The grounds are very well maintained and very safe to walk around. they even have bikes for you to use if you want to bike to the near by square, or where ever. There is a complementary buffet breakfast held in the "Saddles" restaurant on the property, with plenty of choices, but if you wanted a hot breakfast that was available from their menu for a reasonable price. There is a happy hour every evening from 5:00p.m. to 6:30 in the Library, also located on the property. They serve wine, fruit, cheese and crackers. The young lady who serves up the wine is "MaryJane" and is very helpful about telling you about the wineries in Sonoma and will also be happy to give some coupons for tastings at some of the ones she recommends. We spent several nights visiting with her and finding out about so much of this beautiful area. There is a pool that was very clean and warm,we found ourselves there all by ourselves a few times. There is a beautiful spa also located on the property, but I did not get a chance to use it but heard several people say how wonderful it was. On Tuesdays there is a Farmers Market in the square or downtown Sonoma, which is within walking distance (maybe 20 minutes). There is fresh fruit and vegetables and local artists selling their wares. There is also live music, and people of all ages are dancing, and it seems everyone brings their own wine and picnics on the grass in the square. It is definitely fun for all. MacArthur Place will be a place we will visit again. We enjoyed our stay very much and the people who run this establishment should be very proud. Thank you!!!

We had a wonderful stay at MacArthur Place. My now fiance had worked with the staff to ensure a perfect vacation for what ended up being our engagement weekend. The staff is phenomenal and goes the extra mile to make sure the experience is nothing short of spectacular. Beautiful boutique hotel with every amenity you can think of. Walking distance to downtown AND easy access to Sonoma + Napa wineries. Ms Bunky can set you up with anything you need during your stay, especially if you are interested in winery tours throughout the area. MacArthur Place has a special spot in our hearts and we look forward to our next stay.

Enjoyed two nights at this fantastic place. Good location just south of the Plaza. Property is very low key, clean, and well maintained. Room was perfect and the staff was very friendly. Did not eat at the restaurant but did have a drink at the bar. Would probably suggest other restaurants but not any other Sonoma hotel.

This is a lovely Boutique hotel within walking distance to downtown Sonoma. The rooms are very nice and clean and feel like being in a nicely decorated bedroom. The breakfast included in price of our room was excellent as well as the free wine and appetizers served during happy hour. The only reason why I didn't give it a rating of 5 is because we were on the first floor and we could hear the person above us snoring all night! The hotel was very apologetic and compensated us fairly for our troubles.

Room tip: Choose the second floor
