The good news was that we were able to secure a reservation at this fine establishment for a romantic night away from a family visit to the Bay Area. The bad news was that we didn't get two nights to allow us to fully enjoy the place.

The Garden Suite was awesome with a garden tub and shower outside, a large whirlpool tub and shower inside, and just luxury and comfort everywhere we turned.

While we ate dinner away from the hotel, the complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've ever experienced including the personal service and attention from our waiter.

I had been a little worried about noise after locating this place on Goggle Earth as it is next door to the high school, but we found it to be exceptionally quiet and never heard any traffic noise at all.

The grounds are gorgeous and the landscaping and art make a stroll around the grounds a must while you are there. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked mighty inviting.

While we were there, there were business groups having meetings there and the meeting rooms looked very comfortable and efficient.

I give this place my highest recommendation.

Room Tip: We had a garden suite in the rear of the grounds and it was very quiet.

Just returned from MacArthur Place for a getaway with my husband and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The entire staff from the front desk to the wait staff to the cleaning team were all so friendly and accommodating. The location can't be beat just a few blocks from the center of Sonoma Square and the free continental breakfast each morning was quite extensive and filling. You can rent bikes to explore local wineries right on the property, enjoy a daily wine and cheese hour in the library with a knowledgeable host/hostess, relax by the heated pool and even coordinate pick-up/shipment of any wine you want to send home directly with the front desk. Everything about this place is top notch!

Pastoral setting with winding paths throughout the cottage like buildings, fragrant with flowering plants and visually appealing with sculptures and bird houses with fountains. The staff was uniformly welcoming, efficient and gracious. SADDLES, their steak house, was elegant and the food delicious. They include a good continental breakfast and a wine and cheese reception in the early evenings. Their suite with Jacuzzi bath with 20 jets was so relaxing after days of sightseeing. You can check out a movie, light up the fireplace and relax in the 2 comfortable arm chairs in front of the large, flat screen TV.

Just got back from a one night stay. It was wonderful. From the check in, wine and cheese hour, pool, spa and complimentary breakfast all were fantastic. The room was spacious and well appointed. Walk to the square for some drinks and head over to Hop Monk for dinner.
Would definitely stay here again.

Superb service, very comfortable rooms and funky gardens really set this Hotel apart from the mainstream.
I had a 3 night stay and really can't think of a negative.
I had a great room with a very large bed, a huge walk in shower with lovely grape based products supplied.
Meals in the restaurants were lovely with a generous breakfast with lots of choice and wonderful steaks.
Service was first class and the staff very pleasant and knowledgeable.
If I'm back in the area Mac Arthur place will be my first choice
