The ground of Buena Vista Winery are absolutely beautiful. The walkways were cobblestone. There was a great picnic area with tables and umbrella. Even a fountain. Walking up to the main buildings, there are placards giving visitors the history of the place and people, which was informative.
Inside, this winery has the usual merchandise, and something I'd never seen at another winery. A smelling wall. There's samples of floral, food, and other scents when you stick your nose close to a little tube and squeeze a bulb. Then you get a breath of raspberry, strawberry, and other scents. Interesting.
Hand down, the service was the best. Our bartender, Beatrice, was more than awesome. She guided us through the wines. My favorite was the bottle in the picture with the sheriff's badge on it. Best of all, I came in a little nauseous from a previous visit to another winery on an empty stomach. Beatrice was a saint and offered me the other half of her personal lunch sandwich after I asked if they sold food or snacks. That was one of the kindest gestures I've ever received as a weary traveler. Thanks, Beatrice!
